Anybody ever been to Slab City?

I haven't but my bat sheet crazy former neighbors went there for a couple months 2 or 3 years ago. They said the place was way too crazy for them and that is saying a lot. There was a guy who would burn down your place if you would get into an argument with him and they said he would pick fights with anybody he could. New people would get their stuff stolen. Sounded like the typical bum camp to me.

Three posts into this thread and the unverified rumor mill has already started.

At least it sounds authentic, although your stay might be trimmed.

I just sent them a group of raw cards to be graded. I'll let you know how I did when I get them back.

They said turnaround time is about a year and a half, as they are already incredibly backlogged. Hope it's worth the wait.

It’s their donkey that’s backlogged. The Post Office is 87 miles away.

Have we cracked the code? Is this really PSA's new HQ?

I heard that the reason they're backlogged is their set registry has really taken off.

Their set registry did take off, but was promptly intercepted by a hostile PSA drone.

When I was in the Marines we used to do training there. We’ve been 3 different times to check it out and the Salton Sea, attched is a shot from Salvation Mountain which is in the heart of Slab City.

There is also “the range” which has open mic/ stand up night - or whatever you want to say, joke about or sing....

Attached is a pic of my wife in her wedding dress at “the range” - we drive around the country the 1st year of our marriage taking pictures of her in her wedding dress in various places.

Slab City was my first choice for our honeymoon. My bride nixed the idea saying no honeymoon beats a Slab City honeymoon. Happy wife, happy life.
