Default Need some help with Stadium? Seats

A friend picked these up over the weekend... 3 chairs mounted in a row. 2 of the 3 have consecutively numbers brass tags.. wood is old and has a beautiful patina that would be tough to achieve outdoors... legs are metal, and wonderfully ornate...

Anyone have any idea as to what these were used for? Any clues on age?
As always, your input is much appreciated

Dave

Picture is awfully small, too hard to make anything out.

Not a stadium seat. More like what was in a train station or other place where you would wait.

I agree very likely theater seats, which would explain the numbering.

BTW - cool seats! regardless of what they are for.
