Default Al Demaree artwork for 1935 Schutter Johnson set

I recently picked up this piece of Al Demaree sketches. It is blank backed and measures about 7.5" x 11". The cool thing about it is that it has drawings that were later used in the 1935 Schutter Johnson set for cards #42 Ruth's grip and #36 Pepper Martin bunting.

In 1922, Demaree's sketches began appearing in The Sporting News. This piece has a sketch for Ty Cobb in a Detroit uniform, so that would date it to 1926 or earlier, probably around 1925.

Pretty cool that some of the sketches were done a decade before the release of the Schutter Johnson set.

Very neat item. Not quite as old as you state however, since it mentions Rogers Hornsby as the second sacker for the Cubs, and he did not play for Chicago until 1929 (through '32). Unclear whether the sketches depicted had been drawn much earlier, but a really cool piece in any event.

That's pretty awesome, but the nitpicker in me can't help but see that bunting form has improved over the years. That cartoon batter is just asking to get a finger broken!
