I would go with the Bill Russell. Here is why:

- There are THOUSANDS of Jabbar rookies out there.

- Finding a Russell RC with good centering is VERY difficult.

Assuming that's a fair price for both, which is amazing to me but whatever, the Russell clearly. PS The centering s/s doesn't look so great on Lew.

Seems far North to me

Russell is probably the better long term investment at the right price if they were equal

Obviously the Russell. Pretty decent centering for a 57. Not so much on the other.

I concur on the others thoughts. The centering on the Russell pushes him across the finish line as the winner

Of the two, the Russell, for the reasons already stated. Hell, any 1957 with nice centering is a better than average card regardless of other factors. I was looking for nicely centered 1957s at the National and found relatively few.

Now if it was my $40K I'd much rather have this Russell and the change:

I wouldn't pay 40k for that Russell. REA sold one for 24k Spring 2017, Mile High sold one for 26k in June 2017. Those are the last two sales. If I was spending 40K, I would look for a better centered Jabbar that would be worth 40k. If the choice is the two pictured cards, I would keep my money and not take a 10k-15k loss.

If I'm spending even $2k on a Kareem rookie you can bet I'm waiting for one with perfect centering, nevermind $40k.

Only 17 PSA 9's of Alcindor and 46 PSA 8's of Russell. I would be more apt to spend 40K on a centered example of a PSA 9 Alcindor than a PSA 8 Russell.

Except, David, that the vast majority of those 8s are likely borderline centering. This example is very usually well-centered for an 8 Russell.
