Default small manual on forgery detection and authentication

Posted By: davidcycleback

Hi. I'm working on a small printed guide about techniques used to authenticate and forgery detect early baseball cards. The guide will have both advanced techniques (microscopic examination) and easy to use stuff for beginners.

I figure it would be nice to have one chapter that is a long list of commonly known fakes and reprints that are easy to identify. For example, "Any color or blue Fro Joy Babe Ruth is automatically a reprint" or "A T206 Honus Wagner with a Soveriegn back is a reprint"

If anyone has an identification tip he or she (that 'she' puts the pressure on Julie to contribute) to contribue give me an email. Folks who's contributions are used (excludes duplication of what I have) will be credited by name in the guide (unless they ask not to be).

David that sounds like a great idea, i had floated the idea of putting together a kit some time ago on the board but nobody really took to the idea. Perhaps with a book like yours, a kit would be more desireable. In any event, i would love a copy.
