Default Calling..Pennant Collectors...Help With Dating A Pennant Please

I recently won this vintage Purdue pennant. This is my first pennant and know absolutely nothing about them. The only reason why I purchased this was because, I'm a Purdue alum.

The seller stated he thinks this is late 1890's or early 1900's...are these estimates correct? It's 38 x 18 inches.

Any help with information would be greatly appreciated!

They are probably in the ballpark. 1910's maybe.

Very beautiful pennant!! Are you going to frame it up? How much did you get it for?

1910's would be my guess as well.

Best,

Thanks guys for the help!

It was around $135 but I had $45 in gift cert so, all said and done was about $100 out of pocket. Not sure how rare it is...but I can't imagine there's that many out there...?!

I will be framing it in time, but slowly since it's rather large and will cost a nice penny.

IT does have an odor of somekind....any ways to get rid of it?

The other guys will tell me if I'm wrong, but I can't see how a light spraying of Febreze could hurt it....

Framing wouldn't be bad if you go to americanframe.com Super easy...I've framed 35+ concert posters with their supplies.

I thought about the Febreze but, I was afraid someone was going to tell me the chemicals were gonna to destroy it, haha. I'll have to give it a try if no one else sees it as a problem

C'mon Mike are you sure you weren't waiving this style flag at Ross Ade Stadium on many a Saturday afternoon? Lol. Seriously , great early pennant but I wouldn't break the bank framing it through let's say a Michaels outlet. Maybe get some advice from people with experience here about how to frame yourself or finding a less costly alternative.
