Thanks JimB. I don't think it has ever been explained why Goudey chose to put Lajoie on that card; he had been retired from baseball for something like 18 years at the time it was issued.

Eric, that Goudey is simply breathtaking; truly one of the nicest cards I've ever seen posted on Net 54.

Phil, I bought it at an REA auction a few years ago.
The winner could not pay so I purchased it at my last bid amount. It's definitely one of my favorite cards!
