Default Now that auction is closed

I am curious what some of the experts think. Some really nice cards were up for auction - the green Cobb in link below is one.

I really was going to go after this green Cobb but was afraid to bid without seeing them in person.

Do they look authentic to the experts here? I thought they did. But was spooked by the back damage that could obfuscate any "RP" indications.

What did you guys think?

The M116s in that auction caused me to be cautious. The smudging of the name captions, I don't know M116s that well, but it doesn't seem the print should smudge. Also, the scrapbook photos of the cards still attached didn't seem right, the cards barely look like they are attached, how come they are still glued on after all these years if they are barely on the page? It also seemed odd that all the best collector cards were in the scrapbook, and he doesn't show those still in the book. Looking at sales history, he hadn't sold anything in over a year, and before that it was all parts for guns. Just too many flags waving for me. I hope they come out real, but I had too many doubts to bid.

I did not see a deal to be had so I didn't bid on any of them. I also had no desire to go through the hassle of winning, submitting, and then having to file for a refund if they weren't authentic.

I've been looking at old cards for decades and they all looked original to me.
