Just amazing Doug. Glad you were reunited and that your Dad is around to see it!!!

My sad story was the Day they Retired Jackie, Campy and Sandy's number at Dodger Stadium 1972. I sat right next to CASEY STENGEL. My grandfather told me who he was. When he found out my name was "Charles" he signed my program 4-times from Charles Casey Stengel to Charles and to Chuck from Chuck Casey Stengel...on & on and on. There was soon a line down the aisle. I'll never forget it.

I kept it away from my other signed programs and finally lost it around 2000 or so. I too look for it all the time through my old programs, ticket stubs and from time to time on e-bay. I hopeI am reunited with it before I die.

So glad for you. You deserve it.

Great story Doug - the entire roller coaster ride of it. So glad that you and the ball are reunited.

A similar story, but much less dramatic, was a missing 1960 Topps Baseball set that my dad and I had put together in the 1980s. After his passing, I had looked up and down his house for it, but could not find it anywhere. Then one day when I was over there cleaning up some things, I found it in the bottom of my sister's closet and let out the same scream that you mentioned. Like running across an old friend.

Great story sir! A fun read (the El Camino bit brought back some memories, too) and so happy for you that the ball turned up.

So happy you found it! I was also really sad when reading the original story.
