Default Autographed Pre-War Cards Show & Tell

Picked up another Marquard today. Seems like a good opportunity to have another autographed pre-war card show & tell. I don't care if you've shown them a million times, I wanna see them again.

Here's my collection of signed T206 Marquards. Sometimes people will ask me how rare these really are, and I say, "Well, if I've got 8 of them, how rare can they really be? How many more must be out there?" Heck, I've owned maybe a half dozen other signed T206 Marquards that aren't even among this 8!

Anyway, show 'em if ya got 'em....

I know these aren't for sale, but if you ever decide to part with one of them, let me know.

Paul -- Very VERY cool collection of Marquards. It's interesting to see the variations among a set of autographs from the same player.

I can't help but wonder if it's possible to complete an autographed back run...

Regards,

Richard.

The EPDG is certainly a rare one. I think I've seen a Hindu.

Some of these are probably not pre-war (some are during the war and after the war!), but I will still share them. I don't have too many scanned. Maybe a nice winter project someday.

I'll start with one I just sent to Mr. Doerr recently. Got it back within a week!

I have 8 different autographed T-206's which I will post sometime but believe they are duplicates to what you already have.

Default HOF Auto Collection

This is roughly currently what I have, I bet I can't think of around 25 more players I don't have listed. Looking to add some more, so please let me know if you're willing to trade or sell. Started this set about 3 years ago with an Enos Slaughter at 21, so we'll see how far this goes!

Thanks!

1954 Topps Ernie Banks
1948 Bowman Yogi Berra, x3
1983 Donruss Wade Boggs, card graded PSA 91957 (sold)
1957 Topps Jim Bunning
1967 Topps Rod Carew
1965 Topps Steve Carlton
1975 Topps Gary Carter x2, 1 mini card graded PSA 9
1933 Goudey Mickey Cochrane (possibly may be the only one)
1933 Goudey Joe Cronin
1933 Goudey Bill Dickey, card graded PSA 5!
1938 Goudey Heads Up Bobby Doerr
1938 Goudey Heads Up Bob Feller
1948 Bowman Bob Feller x8, PSA 8, 7, 6, 5 the cards are graded those numbers and is signed (highest grades in existence), PSA 2 auto
1935 Diamond Stars Rick Ferrell (not a rookie, but close)
1969 Topps Rollie Fingers, x3
1951 Bowman Whitey Ford
1959 Topps Bob Gibson
1933 Goudey Carl Hubbell
1951 Bowman Monte Irvin
1951 Topps Red Backs Monte Irvin
1933 Goudey Travis Jackson
1966 Topps Fergie Jenkins x4, one from McAlister Collection PSA
1954 Topps Al Kaline, x2
May have a George Kell...
1949 Bowman Bob Lemon
1933 Goudey Freddy Lindstrom
1978 Topps Paul Molitor x4
1948 Bowman Stan Musial, x2
1964 Topps Phil Niekro/Phil Roof dual signed
1966 Topps Jim Palmer (sold)
1962 Topps Gaylord Perry
1933 Goudey Sam Rice
1949 Bowman Robin Roberts
1933 Goudey Red Ruffing
1968 Topps Nolan Ryan/Kooseman dual signed, 1 with just Ryan
1948 Bowman Red Schoendienst
1933 Goudey Joe Sewell x2
1948 Bowman Enos Slaughter
1949 Bowman Duke Snider
1966 Topps Don Sutton
1933 Goudey Bill Terry
1940 Play Ball Arky Vaughan (possibly the rarest one I own, died in the 50's)
1961 Topps Billy Williams
1975 Topps Robin Yount
1983 Topps Tony Gwynn, card graded PSA 7
1948 Bowman Warren Spahn x2
1965 Tony Perez

Some aren't rookies like the Arky Vaughan, but I'm not complaining, I'm just happy to have his auto. I have a signed 33 Goudey of Comorosky which is neat because he passed in '51

Wow, great collection milkit, I'm sure that's only the tip of the iceberg . Love your Cochrane!!! Mine is trimmed, I'll post some pics soon. I'd take yours in a heartbeat. I have to pick up the cochrane when I could because I didn't know how many others existed.

HRBaker, I just wanted to cry when I saw that Ott. Gorgeous! Love your Sam Rice, beats my Goudey

thanks. I have 176 different signed 33 s and over 300 total signed 33 s. mark is working on a signed 34 set and paul is doing the t206s. I was lucky to be one of the first to collect the signed 33 s and got a lot of them signed myself. they are getting out of hand these days so I acquire very few now. got my second hartnett and maranville on the way but hVnt gotten any others in over a year. I may be able to get to 185 but I doubt much more. my doubles I gave to my son and he now has about 90 different which is pretty good for a five year old

milkit that's awesome. yea paul have the market cornered it seems for t206's, i love looking at his site. i don't have too many, like around 20 at the most, just going for hof'ers and just the comorosky. would love a pie traynor and arky vaughan. i mainly have the more common signed hof'ers minus rice, and cochrane. my dickey is graded a 5, so finally have one in good condition :P. i picked up a comorosky at a very reasonable price, especially for how scarce they are. only seen yours as the other one, and a 34 goudey.

if you're willing to do any trades, please let me know. some you have would be very hard to pick up in years to come, but i have patience lol. that's awesome! your son has a better collection than me :P lol

I'm glad you enjoy it. I don't spend nearly enough time updating it or adding stuff to it any more. Things are too hectic, who has the time!?

I got lucky about 7 years ago when a couple of Marquards showed up on ebay and my wife thought they were cooler signed, so I picked them up on the cheap. Thus, began a great love affair with signed T206s. When a bunch sprouted up on ebay in 2007, I was all over them. And my website and Net54 do a pretty decent job of bringing in a new one every 6 months or so...

Wish I would have been old enough to realize how great those cards were lol. Yea, I haven't picked up one in about 3 years, which I'm highly sad about because I don't see them on eBay anymore, and don't want to start overpaying on REA or auction houses quite yet lol

HOF Auto Rookies,
Sean mentioned my 1934 Goudey set in progress. I've posted them before, but here are a few of my favorites.

Great cards! Quite a set you have going. Sad to see soo many Comorsky signed Goudey's, was hoping their were a few. Mine is in the poorest shape in existence! lol

nah comorosky is still quite rare and yours is nice and presentable. percentage wise I think mark is closest then any at completing a signed pre ww2 set.

yea, i got my comorosky at a very reasonable price, and i'm not complaining about it...super excited i have the cochrane, just need that darn arky vaughan and pie traynor...have the vaughan 1940 playball, but would like to get rid of it for the goudey...

nice feller, that's a valuable set. i have the highest graded bob feller cards signed in existence, psa 5,6,7 and 8. cracked them out of the case, drove from minny to iowa to get them signed in person, then shipped to psa! then he passed away less than a year after that, well worth the trip and his stories

Nice McBride! When you're collecting signed T206s, condition doesn't even enter into the equation. They're so rare, you take them as you find them!

good thing, he might just ding and damage your card intentionally in the process.

I loved T206's without auto's, but with them they are unbelievable. So neat to get an autograph from someone 100 years ago. Crazy.

something special about a t206 card signed, and am happy that i even own one. just the moust sought after set of all-time, and to have a card signed, it's priceless (well to me at least because i'm never going to part with it). they are all a thing of beauty and truly a one of a kind. no matter if you have 20 different signed by marquard or doyle, each is different in their own respect, each has their own story
