There is going to be a sneak peek Wednesday night from 5-9. I thought only VIP ticketholders were able to attend and this was one of the reasons I bought it in the first place, but apparently the general public can attend although VIPers get in through a separate door and don't have to wait in line.
Now I hear than through Naxcom you can buy an "hour of power" ticket and actually be admitted at 4. Is this correct? Does this mean that the VIPers have to wait until 5?
Just wondering.
See you at the show and Dinner Friday night.

It is moot for me since my flight isn't scheduled to land until 2:24 anyway; I doubt I'd have time for the inevitable delays, getting checked into the hotel, eating, and getting to the show much before 5 anyway.

Is it too late to purchase the VIP tickets?

I bought the VIP ticket for 3 reasons:
1) Never having to stand in line
2) Getting in first on Wednesday night
3) Getting to meet Bill Lee

Oh well, I still get to meet the Spaceman and don't have to wait in line....

So...I called the National show manager's office today.

According to his print-out that he read to me, the 4:00 pm sneak peek is open to VIP ticket holders and NAXCOM "power hour" ticket holders, all others get in at 5:00 pm.

However, I pointed out to him that this is not listed on the National and NAXCOM sites. That, according to the sites, VIP holders get in at 5 pm and Power Hour NAXCOM holders at 4 pm. His response was that VIP holders should be able to get in at 4 pm (and that the VIP lounge was being sponsored by NAXCOM).

My final question for him: "So, just to confirm, I don't need to buy the VIP ticket and the NAXCOM ticket to get in at 4?"

His response: "I don't think so, you should be fine with the VIP ticket."

So -- I'm sticking with the VIP ticket and not buying the Power Hour ticket, too...and keeping fingers crossed that he is right.

Not altogether reassuring from the same folks that always schedule the National to run opposite Hall of Fame weekend and the card show in Cooperstown...

As a Naxcom ticket holder I'm disappointed that you VIPs may be able to get in at 4 after all

But for purely selfish reasons, the non-publicity about it is actually good, because many non-board VIPs may assume they can't get in until 5, leaving more for those of us who do

The National high muckety mucks have confirmed that VIPers get in at 4.
Guess we can each take one side, Tim, and I'll meet you in the middle at 9

Forgive me if this a stupid question, but what does sneak peek mean? Is the show actually "open" for buying or is this just a chance to check out what's for sale.

As is normal at the National different types of tickets get folks in at different times....of course the earlier the better. Vendors and exhibitors first, Nexcom or VIP passes next and so on.......regards

I understand that part. I bought a Naxcom ticket and was planning on getting there at 4pm on Wednesday. What I was concerned about was that "sneak peek" meant browsing only and that the sellers wouldn't be "open for business" until Thursday.
