Default Thoughts On T206 Burch - Brown Hindu

What are your thoughts on the final price of this Burch - Brown Hindu?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/310349268816...=STRK:MEDWX:IT

I have been collecting the T206 set for 5.5 years and would rather collect the whole set without consideration for backs. So, I don't really pay the extra premium for rare backs.

I know that the Burch, Batting is a very tough "common", so the combination of Burch and Brown Hindu probably makes it a desirable card to those that are back collectors.

So, what are the thoughts on $609.00? Is that about right? Too much? Thoughts?

BTW, this is a great looking card!

Thanks,
Phil

It seems very high, but it's a tough card with a tough back in very nice condition, so it was that combination of factors that led to a little bidding war. I can understand why it went for a lot.

Default Hindu

I am in agreement with Barry. I am trying to put a set together with at least 50% tough backs. A Brown Hindu 4 Burch although at first glance looks high, falls in line with the latest premiums paid for these backs.

The T206 back craze continues. Any of the tougher backs in vg/ex condition or better such as this card are bringing silly money right now.

That's a tough card with that back and in nice condition, I think the buyer got it for a good price. It's the only remotely tough back that Burch can be found with.

Default Brown HINDU cards

My experience at the National this Summer was that T206 brown HINDU cards were "hot". I would say....moreso than they usually have been.

I sold 8 of them and the buyers did not even try to haggle with me on my prices. Irv Lerner, whose booth was opposite mine, told me that he
sold most (if not all) of his brown HINDU cards. And, he had several 15-pocket pages full of them in his T206 album.

price seems about right. tough player, tough back, nice condition.

a few months back i bought a clean common PSA 3 Brown Hindu for around $500 and i was happy with that price.

Default A good deal

In preparation for selling some, I have been watching every Hindu that has come up on EBay and just about very time they sell for a little more. Given past prices and performances of Hindus on Ebay, I really thought it would get at least $750. Check these out and tell me what you think?

Here is a George Manion Hindu SGC 30 that sold for $607.00

http://www.ebay.com/itm/140612015966...ht_3763wt_1139

Here is what would be a ~$25 card, but it has a Hindu back with heavy paper loss.....it sold for $199.49!

Default P.S.

Here is an ungraded Larry Doyle Throwing with a Hindu back that sold for $831.00. It is a good looking card.

I think the price realized was in line...as far as that Larry Doyle...really nice looking card...very telling to see all of the "attempted" side offers made!

Speaking of the Doyle, I was watching that one and it looks like there are possibly two marks on the back. The long vertical line down the middle of the card and by the "s" in subjects. May be nothing. It is a great looking card.

Here's the Doyle, graded. The main line was a scratch in the plastic. The brown "stain" was a shadow cast on the image.

I'm excited to see what the final price is going to be for this card. I'm pretty sure the owner is a fellow board member http://www.ebay.com/itm/T206-Hindu-W...item20bd6bd35b

Strong work there Jason -- I had seen that card in the ungraded EBay auction and was put off by the perceived line on the back, plus am typically reluctant to spend so much on an ungraded card. So good for you that it was just an artifact of the photo/case. There was also a black speck on the front (above his left shoulder) which seems to have been an artifact as well.

I'd say the Burch was in line. Seems like 2s/30s are going for ~$250, 3s/40s for ~$400, so that being a 4/50 with that front isn't surprising to me at all.

Thanks for the plug Cole! That is my Grandmother's. I am selling it for her as part of her retirement plan.

If you have not seen the B/S/T post, I think the pics are a little better: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=142368
