Default New Member and Wondering Whether Anyone Will Be at NC Fairgrounds This Weekend?

Hello all! I'm new to posting, but have read a number of your informative posts over the past several months and found them extremely enlightening. I'm coming into collecting through my father's collection, which he got great enjoyment from when he was younger, but then packed away in a box for most of the time as he moved on to other collections. I've been organizing his cards (he was of the "shoebox and rubber bands" school, unfortunately) and having a grand time figuring out what some of them are (more the non-sports stuff) and trying to finish several of the sets that he was very close to wrapping up but hadn't completed. I've caught the bug, and was very happy to find so many similarly-afflicted knowledgeable souls!

I did want to ask whether anyone was planning on heading to the NC State Fairgrounds this coming weekend. I attended one a few months ago and had a grand time. I spent more than planned, of course, but ended up getting some key cards that brought me within finishing range of the '53 Topps set, which was a nice surprise. Is it possible I might see some folks from this board there at the coming one?

Default NC Collectors Unite!

I will be going this weekend (probably Friday/Saturday), and always go to the Raleigh shows. Though this one might be just a relatively quick appearance, due to The National the following week. I wouldn't mind touching base with fellow NC collectors though (if not this weekend, then the next show).

Bobbyw, it looks like we'll probably miss each other. A new activity with friends came up for Sunday, so I'll be planning to visit the show late morning Saturday. I'm hoping to link up with Tschock there, and perhaps we can meet at a later show, since they have them a few times a year in Raleigh. Thanks very much for the responses!
