Updating the above: bunch of new ones up at ebay and, again, all low quality. And some elite players now coming to Heritage at end of month (Cobb, Jackson, WaJO etc.) all PSA 1 or worse.

Does Speaker have a mustache in his M101-2? Did he ever have one in his early playing days?

Good question--but this image always seems to suggest a faint 'stache but probably misleading.

Excellent top 50 MLB stache list. Mick should get honorable mention!

Bunch of newly graded HOFers just up at Leland's including Wags-Cobb, Lajoie and Joss. As usual, only 1s and 2s due to ultra-strict PSA on these. Also new at ebay a Joe Jackson and another Wags-Cobb, was up for auction last night then disappeared. And Heritage has some coming up, again low grades but nice.

My prediction still holds: contrary to what some have said, ones getting graded out of collections due to price surge are still only earning low grades. Even those look great overall, terrific size and images, but fragility issues almost always present.

I was a underbidder on it
Thought oh heck it go over 10k with my luck
At 5k sounds like a bargain with recent sales
Depending it grades auth or 1
Does anyone think it grades a psa 1?

It would be a "1" but with writing on front would have to be an Auth....

I thought price ended where I thought, given that and not yet graded....

Someone may have already said this, but PSA doesn't grade M101-1s because they don't have a slab that big. 8.5x11 is their max and those are generally 9x11. Kinda silly after all this time they haven't created a 10x12 slab for M101-1 and M114.

Two new ones up at eBay--a Criger/Cy Young 2 and a Matty 3. However, they are from Beckett and by PSA standards both "ones" (see reverse of Matty and paper loss on upper right of the Young).

So, as with others, will be interesting to see what they go for.

In case anyone thought PSA might moderate its super-harsh grading of these...just got this back today. Merely a "2." The back is also great.

I'm psyched they're starting to get some respect. None of mine are graded and probably never will be, but they are some of my favorites in my collection:

By usual PSA standards on these, very generous grade on the Alexander. Of course, it deserves VG-EX but normally from them on these this would be about a 2 -- presuming back is great.

Interest and prices remain strong for these at AHs (not so much ebay). Record prices for PSA 1s for Young-Criger and Johnson-Street at Heritage last night. PSA 1 Cobb not so much but lot of damage there.

More record prices last night at Lelands for most of the HOFers (LaJoie, Joss, Cobb-Wagner, Walsh and on and on). All PSA 2 and PSA 1. Now we'll see what happens at REA with similar. Bidders by now seem to get the idea that few better quality--by PSA standards--are out there......

The Baker, Clarke and Crawford were notably a lot weaker though. I got tied up and didnt get to bid more. Oh well.

They were all PSA 1s and got highest prices ever for them as 1s.

I wonder if relatively new collectors are gravitating to these beauties? They’re an affordable(ish) way to get into a playing days card of a HORer and are fantastic display pieces to put T206 cards (or other ‘traditional’ cards) in front of as a backdrop. However, for dealers these M101-2s take up the space of 2+ graded cards on a table, so therefore have a lower return per square inch of table space due to their size.
