Default attn: Trae R. Credit card experiment paying off

Posted By: Billy

Well so far my endevour to purchase cards on the plastic has worked!!!! The idea was steadfastly rejected by the senior members of this board as stupid to spend money you don't have, but I have made $500 profit this month doing it.

Leifield/Simon t201 PSA 6 paid $175 Sold $368.56
Hank Aaron 54 topps PSA 5 paid $509 Sold $558
McGinnity/McCarty T201 PSA 4 paid $75 Sold $89.22
Walter Payton signed steiner photo Paid $102 Sold $243 (2 items not related to pre-war, but same principle)

I know Trae R. wants to buy T206's, and I think that if you buy right on credit (or cash for you baby boomers with the cash flow) you can then sell those cards for profit and use the profit to buy the cards you want!! We'll see if this trend continues, but so far so good for this bum.

Haha, nice Billy. I wish you continued success with your plan! I found a way recently to purchase a bulk of T206's on a payment plan of sorts from a very kind soul on this board, so for right now I am committed to getting those paid off ASAP - but after that I may experiment some with your idea. Maybe I'll purchase a few PSA "bargains" on my CC and resell for cash/profit to buy more T206's!

what's the point in getting a credit card that's for more than you have--if you don't buy something that costs MORE THAN YOU have with it? So then it takes you months to pay it off--so WHAT! You got something you really wanted.

My problem is the big auction houses and the dealers i like best (except Terry K)don't accept plastic. So I find myself buying soup, candy, toilet paper and points west with the plastic and saving cash for cards.. and boxes, and encclyclopedias...ohboy!

Hope someone asks me next week what I got this week!

I think he is implying that you buy something you don't want with pastic, resell it for more then you paid, paid the credit card bill with that money, and use the profit to buy something you want. That's just my perception of it.

Yes, I used my sells to pay my card off, and the profit I used to buy 11 t206'S in PSA and SGC 3-5 condition!! We'll see how it goes, and good luck to you Trae.
