I know these are cut all over the place, sizewise, but this one I just picked up is freakin' huge. I could probably get 2-3 good trimmings from this one... regards

Where's your quarter? Without the quarter I can't really tell how big the borders are... LOL

What are the measurements of the card?

Great card Leon. Is it a White Sox and Cubs issue only or are other teams represented? Happy Holidays, Chris

I am not at home so don't know the dimensions off hand. When I measured it to the other 2 I have it was much larger than one and about 1/8" larger, on one side, than the other. Without having the Big Book with me I do think it was only Chicago teams, but I could be mistaking this with the 1932 Chicago issue (the smaller w type cards).....At any rate these are some of the biggest borders I have ever seen on a regular card .....happy holidays..

after a little research it looks like this is not an "only Chicago" issue..

I have two Foxx cards from this set. The one graded by PSA says handcut at the top. The one graded by SGC says nothing other than the normal heading. Though PSA says it is from 32, and SGC calls it a 33. But under closer scrutiny, and I have never looked that closely before, there are some very minor printing differences. Differing dot sequences. The PSA does look handcut, but the other is surely not. Both nice cards. Any thoughts, on this otherwise, day of relaxation?

The set is clearly not from 1932 because Simmons is shown with the White Sox. The date of this set has been discussed on this board before. The natural inclination is to assume the set is from 1933, but I think there was some evidence discussed that the set may be from even later.

Lefty's card shows him with the Athletics. Lefty was traded from the Athletics to the Red Sox sometime between the end of the 1933 season and the beginning of the 1934 season. I don't know the date of the trade off the top of my head...

I have a few of them, they are machine cut and the size is 2-3/16" by 2-3/4" (SCD lists them as slighly larger but they are not). 29 players/managers in set (many different teams). Found with a grey back or a cream back.

The date of issue is at least 1933. (Marberry started with Tigers 1933)
