Default REA Wins

For the first time in a long time, I finally get to post a major auction house win. I'm thrilled to death to finally pick up Dick Lundy's only card. Now all I have to do is convince the veteran's committee to put him in the Hall of Fame (along with Alejandro Oms, who I also have a card of).

Great card, he was on my list too, but had to avoid bidding on everything. Agree with you on Oms. Post this in the other thread. Happy to grab this after getting shut out on a bunch including the Mackey. What a great auction for Negro League items.

Went into this auction hoping to pick up a 1920's Ruth but those prices ran aggressive for the most part. I was extremely excited to pick up the t210-7 group however!

I didn't see this when I first browsed the auction online, but it caught my eye while inhaling the fumes of the printed catalog.

Nice pickup DJ, but disappointing for me to know that this (that I own) is not unique.

DJ - great eye!
Paul - that is a total stunner!

Congrats on the wins everyone.

It was a great auction. I was outbid on a few things I really wanted but picked up 3 items. I am awaiting for REA to confirm if my invoice was the lowest graded invoice ever.

I was outbid on several Aguilitas, including the SGC 3 Lloyd in the final minutes. Congrats to whoever won!

I bid on the Lundy and was underbidder on the Dobie Moore. Just didn't
have the funds to go higher.

I did win the Armando Marsans though.

Default Pulled another Doc Brown impression

and decided "What the hell?!"

Pretty excited about the 1935 Goudey Premiums R309-2 complete set.

Especially excited about the partial set of the 1969 Transogram complete boxes. Although someone (possibly around here) made me pay up for it.

It looks like a few of the 1924 Aguilitas Segundas had the cross on the top right, almost like they were cut from sheets. I noticed it on the incredible Mackey and also the Ramos that Kenny shared above. You can see it on a few of the other cards as well (top right and bottom right of many). Any thoughts on that?

I came away with one awesome card (below), but couldn’t bring myself to make another bid on the item I REALLY wanted. Oh well. It’s only cardboard.

There are only two known of the 1886 Red Stocking Cigar Radbourn. I used to own the other (Lipset’s example - see Encyclopedia cover). This one is, shall we say, a bit smaller, but definitely more affordable.

No wins for me this time as I didn't really chase anything seriously.

I had three consignments and was happy with the results.

Default If anyone won lot 309, I’m interested in five of those cards…

In the continuing (revised) quest to get one of each of the different cards Howe had, there were five in that lot that would fall into the “Geez, I don't have one of those” category. If you were the winner, please let me know. Thanks. Ed

Was SO excited to win this Fenway panoramic photo. Surprised to have won for under $3K. This same photo sold in REA back in 2006 for over $7500. Not sure if they overpaid or I got a great deal but thrilled to add this display piece!

Congrats to the winner of the green Cobb in the SGC 3.5 holder. Great card at a fantastic price. I thought about costing you some money but just didn't pull the trigger, for whatever reason.

Not a pre-war pickup in REA, but I was happy to add this card. Working on a 1964 Giants auto'd set and now standing at 58/60, still missing Clemente and Farrell. Had been looking for a couple of years for this one:

Of the two in the set, I like that one much better. The other would have been a slight upgrade, but not enough that I wanted to go as deep as it would have cost me. That's a GREAT card. Congratulations!!! Best,

Picked up this Diamond Star Ott, leaves me one card away from completing the set. I also was bidding on the Greenburg error in EX, a real beautiful registration on that, which went well above what i expected. Didn’t chase it, but someone got a really nice card.

Great pickups everyone.

I'm very excited to add a D381 Ferguson with coupon! Very rare type card!

Missed out on my main targets but did get this as a consolation.

Default harry steinfeldt

I picked up just one card to complete my e97 Cubs team base set, which consists of him and Rube Kroh, lol. now on to the variations. Steinfeldt was a complete stud 3rd baseman. in 1907 & 1908 World Series combined, Steinfeldt had 12 hits, 5 RBIs, 5 runs, and kept Ty Cobb off the base path.

Managed to snag the E97 Willie Keeler, a card I have turned over multiple times, This one is a beauty and goes in the PC at long last. To me, Keeler represents the essence of the 'Dead Ball Era'. "Hit 'em where they ain't" is still good advise today.

Default M101-1

Love seeing the pickups. I placed a bid on about 10 lots, even some in this thread, but ended up winning just one. Extremely happy though, great auction
