Default Chances of tobacco card original art showing up?

I had a dream that I stumbled upon all the original t206 artwork. Has anyone ever heard of such thing existing for the tobacco sets? What would be the value on original art Cobb greenback portrait?
I'm drooling

I'm really hoping a T206 full/part sheet shows up one day, have actually dreamed of this happening.

Closest thing we have are proofs and the original photos use.

I'd say the chances are slim at this point, but you never know what will turn up.

Among the missing stuff , assuming ALC did the cards the same way they did the cigar box labels.

Uncut sheet/part sheet
Original art
Progressive proof books

I haven't seen any of them for any of the ALC baseball sets. I have seen progressive proof books of cigar box labels, so I know they made them for those at least.

Stuff that probably existed but almost certainly is long gone.

The halftone negatives for the halftone portions of the cards.
The transfers used to lay out the stones/plates
The actual stones, either a master or a production stone (There's a master that includes the back of a 1910 era hockey card but I don't think it's from ALC)
Possibly negatives for the individual colors that weren't halftone.
Any packing /shipping materials - like a box used to ship the cards.
ALC internal documents - Orders, work orders, invoices, etc.

This question came up some years ago on the non-sports side. Here are a couple pics showing artwork for the N2 Allen & Ginter Indians issues in 1887 (about 20/50 have been identified). These are amazing and I would imagine that artwork from 1909 baseball players should be out there. I'm surprised it isn't already known.

Another interesting thread showing some original photo sources.

Default Gcm art showed up

If the George c miller artwork can show up, t206 artwork could be out there as well. imagine the frenzy if artist proofs and scrap exist....

I'm just happy that my inane worthless threads have at least inspired another forum member to come up with a thread that is a little bit interesting.

haha! That might be the best compliment Ive had all year!

I wondered with the t206 artwork if the artwork itself was updated as they recycled the cards through the years what with the coupon cards and all. Gor example, if original artwork for a Eddie Collins popped up would it be missing the Athletics emblem on the jersey like the t213-3?

technically yes. I was more curious about the actual painted artwork. Seems strange that not one has been seen from any of the painted tobacco sets

Default Sean....

Chris is right.....the closest we have right now are the T 206 PROOFS.....

THE design change (type 1 proofs) show an actual "design change" in art that differs from the final production example of that particular card....for example the pastorius, alperman, matty type 1 proofs ect
