Default Did anyone else notice the high Greg Bussineau prices last night??

..and right before the Nationals too!! I'm guessing we are in a bull card market?? The one that really shocked me was this one. Over $4,000 for three cards that didn't get a number grade - Authentic only!!

not shocking at all! get one of these 3 to cross over to psa with a #...and you've got a major league profit! i'd almost guess this is the motivation/goal here...and I would not be surprised if they succeed!

GregB is one site i like bidding on every time it comes up. I also placed a few bids here as well. (same as Hunt). RC's of Jackie Robinson 48-49 leaf SGC 50 was NICE!!! i placed several bids on it.
Also, they had a nice centered Mays RC too. Between Hunt and GregB, they had 2 nice centered Mays RC's

Actually these same 3 cards sold in the recent REA auction for over $6500: Link. So this is actually a drop in price. I also assume that after the consignor to this auction purchased those cards, he determined that the trim was too noticeable to be able to receive a number grade if he cracked out.

Good eyes Gary. I would have liked the Sport Kings Ruth, but I have a $1,000 value on it. I would have sold off the other two to defray the costs. However, I don't see the other two pulling $1,000 each, as I had a similar Authentic Gehrig and it only got $650 for it.

Maybe the buyer will try to sell them raw as mint cards.

Bussineau usually has modest prices compared to many auction houses, at least based on what I have seen, VCP searches, etc. I wonder why that is?

This was my first auction I did with them and the prices seemed real nice. Now will see how fast they ship. Only thing I hate is no PayPal haha oh well. I hope to do more with them in the future.

Maybe no last second email reminders about the auction? I forgot about the auction and never got in my late bids. Two of the 3 items I was interested in went way below what I would have paid.

I'm with you on the "no PayPal" policy of most auction houses. I understand they are trying to keep costs down, but the few auction houses that accept PayPal simply bump up the BP.

20% BP & No Paypal!?
How High does the BP have to go before they Accept Paypal?

Just Curious?

LOTG is an example of an auction house that accepts PayPal with a BP of 20%, but charges 18% for cash, check, or money order.

I figured the same thing. Oh well i need the card for my set and it was a very good price even including the BP and shipping.

I do like Greg's auctions and catalogs, but 20% is one of the highest BPs out there.
