Unfortunately for me... this was NOT one of those cards that have depreciated since Dec. 2003.

I disagree, someone with that card should not have any other T206s in their collection. So that means Hal must give up his Uzit Crawford and Cobb and his Ty Cobb backed Cobb. Highest bid on the B/S/T wins

I just bought a 1933 Ruth Blue Bird from the same seller, & jokingly told my wife about the Wagner, but she didn't think I was very funny. Awesome card Hal!

2000 lb. gorrila--he can collect anything he wants to. very nice card. Glad you didn't spend twice as much and get a higher grade one! It couldn't happen to a nicer guy, who made a pile of money, in a better cause--YEAH!

Also, it's a great Wagner, with a fine image--all the Wagner anybody should ever need....

You have joined a very elite group of collectors with that card . I know you have mentioned on more than one occasion your desire to own that card and its a pleasure seeing someone achieve their goal . Now I hope you won't bid on any of Ebay pursuits for a little while anyway .

Simply awesome Hal! I too went to the site after seeing the card here on the VBC Forum. He had it up and said "Photo Unavailable". I clicked anyway and there it was in all it's glory!

It is an honor just to say way to go! I would wake up at least three times a night just to look at this card if it was mine! Seriously, can I have your autograph? I can get it PSA/DNA'd. It would probably sell on ebay. Really though I bet you are constantly pinching yourself to see if you are dreaming. Geez, I would be saying to myself-"what now?" again congrats. I envy you!

Wow, I am a lot closer to that card than I ever thought I would be. Actually posting in a forum with somebody that owns one. That is outstanding, congratulations.

Now that you have fulfilled that dream, when you come down off cloud 9 you will have to share your next one with us.

I just want to THANK all of you for your warm and sincere posts!!!

As you would expect...I had a hard time sleeping last night after spending a big chunk of change on a little piece of cardboard and a plastic slab.

If I had logged on this morning to a long thread BASHING the card and telling me how foolish I was to buy a card with "worn corners" or "that really isn't so rare"...

or if someone had called me an "investor" instead of a collector...

it would have taken all the joy out of my purchase.

But to the contrary... all of you guys and gal UNDERSTAND the joy and "giddiness" that I am experiencing and I THANK you for letting me share it with you!!

After all... WHO ELSE IN THE WORLD could possibly know the excitement of finding a vintage baseball card???

Outside of this forum... probably nobody.

So THANKS again!

That is an attractive card. Congrats Hal.

Mastro had a SGC graded one a couple of years ago. Is yours the same one?

I think that it is great that you are enjoying it so much.

Hal, Every collectors dream is to own a T206 Honus Wagner, no matter what the condition. I don't think you can go wrong. Among us old-timers it was a fantasy of ours to find one in a collection. I always said I needed to find two of them, otherwise I would have to sell it in order to buy all the other cards I wanted. You are also correct in saying only a collector could appreciate the way it made you feel and I think by the number of responses you have gotten here just proves that. We all kind of feel good about it, though probably a little envious. Congrats.

Plenty of other cards out there, especially ones that are much more rarer than a t206 Wagner. It may get all the press, but it's never close to the rarest card in the hobby.

Nice card Hal! It looks almost as nice as the one I bought on ebay from a seller who got the card from his dead grandfather's yard sale or something to that affect! The seller was good enough to sell it to me as a "possible fake" since it wasn't graded! By the way, should my card smell like tea?
