Default Henry Chadwick tin type photo

I have this tin type photo which has Henry Chadwick. Does anyone recognize any other baseball players in this photo? Thanks.

nyyanksghr, The more I consider it, that's a heck of a photo!...I don't know who the other fisherman are though...I like photos that show or catch personal moments, but this photo is in a whole different level of photos than your usual. First of all this is really early photography...then it looks like this is a photo of Chadwick in his younger years, based on his facial features and that his beard is dark, I don't see any gray/lightness....then it's personal in that he's doing something outside of what he's known for, baseball writing that is...Apparently they all fished together and were proud of it and wanted a photo that said so. I like those fishing reels. At first I wondered if those poles were pool cues. The holder it's in looks pretty deluxe too....really sets it off as classy.

So what's the story on it? Where'd ya get it if you don't mind me asking?...what's the who what where when? I did an image search for Chadwick on google and they don't grow on trees...not a lot of them out there...and the few there are on line are formal seated types...nothing even close to what you have.

Below are shots I blew up to see your photo better, plus the writing over Chadwick. Also are shots of Chadwick comparing him to a relief rendering in a baseball clock I wrote about, in which I speculate the rendering is of Chadwick next to Alexander Cartwright

Carlton - I think the consensus from the main board is that the man in the photo is likely not Chadwick. See the discussion here:

I figured it was real since no one shot it down on this post....now that you mention it the pencil writing does look modern...shoot let's all go buy some tin types and write in who you ever want LOL

nyyanksghr,...about those details?

Carlton- in issue #7 of VCBC I compiled a checklist of Henry Chadwick photos that were known at that time, and I agree it was limited. However, that's the issue that most people don't have so I don't think a whole lot of current collectors have read it.
