Default Off-Registration / Ghost T206 Cobb?

I'm a new member to the board here, thank you Leon!

I've been collecting for many years, off and on, and have been collecting tobacco cards over the past ten or so years, primarily T205 & T206's.

I thought I would post one of my more 'unusual' T206's, a red-background Cobb with clear off-registration, or ghost image, of the primary red ink run. Check out the orange border along the left side, and the ghost image of Cobb to the upper-right of where it should have been.

Your thoughts and input are appreciated!

-Tom

do you have any close up crops of the shoulder area on each side so that we can see it better?
Are there print dots or is it just a red fade bled from another sheet?

A red pass went up a bit and to the right 1/4". There is the right edge of a neighboring on the L white border of the Cobb. Similar to my T205 Dahlen on the BST. Whoopsie daisy.

Default Here's a better picture

Okay, sorry for the bad photo. I hope this one loads better details...

Yes, you may need better glasses, Peter ;-) Steve, I believe that is exactly what happened. Unusual in any event. I haven't seen any T205's like this, post a pic??

Default "Buff" pass

Steve has it right that one of the color passes was off high and right. I believe this was the "buff" color (pinkish hue). It's too bad it's not off a little more so we could discern which card was to the left of the Cobb.

It does look like the magenta (pink) was moved up. You can see where the masked out color for his right eye is 3/16" to the right and 1/32" up from where it should be.

This leaves his upper right eyelid looking a little more green and his bottom lip a little more gray.

I don't think it is an extra layer, but an off registration. I could be wrong, but that is how it appears to me.
