Default Zinn Beck Bat History

This might be of interest to some regarding the origin and history of Zinn Beck bats.
Are there any Columbia labels out there?

John,

Good Post. However, i believe Zinn Beck was making bats in the late teens. I believe there was some sidewritten ones from the L.S. vaults with dates to prove. It is possible, he incorporated himself, after demand for his sluggers grew

nice.

I would like to hear more. I've done research in Columbia and in Greenville, and found no hint of production prior to 1922. Can you provide greater detail on the earlier info?

Thanks for the info.
If you would, tell us about the bat you mention above. Label, player's name, etc.

Default Zinn Beck 400 Bat

Here's my Zinn Beck. Sorry for the bad pic. It says Zinn Beck Bat Co. 400 Greenville, South Carolina. Does anyone know about how old it is?

Thanks Matt. It has no endorsement under the diamond. It's 35" long with the same knob as yours. The stampings are nowhere near as bold as yours and Kevin's. Nice bats guys. I've had this one forever and didn't know anything about it.

Default Zinn Beck

John, Here's another you may or may not have seen.
About a 1/2" shorter but VERY similar style to some 20's era Louisville Slugger Wagner gamers I've seen. (yes, I said gamers but that's fodder for a different post) Oh yeah, this bat is now minus the black tape.

Here are a couple of unusual Zinn Beck items -- a small advertising piece and a bat used as part of an award presentation piece.

Greg,
Awesome basement you have! What is the player's name on Dr. Mook's bat?

John,

It's a Ken Williams model -- the players have autographed it on the other side.
