Default 1982 Cubs Press Releases?

Picked up 4 today. Have Public Relations Department on the bottom. About 4 pages stapled together on about 8x14 in paper. Anyone know anything about them or if rare at all? Thought they were neat either way and a few have Autos on them but haven't firguered out whos yet. Thanks.

I worked for the team in 1982 and had a few friends in the media relations department. Those things were put out by the hundreds as there was no such thing as email and the internet obviously. I don't think there is a huge value to them but some Cubs collectors might find them interesting depending on the topic.

What you might also have is game notes put out by the media relations team to the media. These game note were created for every game and each and every team in the league did them (and I am sure still does). Post a scan and we might be able to shed better light on them for you.

These packets are actually about 10-12 pages thick. Here are a few to give you an idea. Also I think they are neat if they aren't worth a dime just haven't seen any before.

Yep, those are game notes.

They were prepared for the media for each game as I mentioned before and distributed in the press box. I know some fans would ask for these as well and, if I remember right they would accommodate the request at the Customer Relations window before the game. I don't think this game was a huge deal as the Cubs and Padres both kinda sucked then....unless you can tie it to a game where a good player made his debut or had a incredible game or something.

I have a bunch of these from various teams. Not much value but a nice collectable.

I recognize that first one as that signature used to be on my pay check. That is Dallas Green who became the President of the team in 1982. The other one does look like Allie Reynolds. It is very possible that those game notes were from old timers day at Wrigley.

Edited to add I see the game notes were for old timers day. I know Allie Reynolds and Leo Durocher were at that game as I had a chance to meet each of them.

The one next to Allie Reynolds has the makings of Leo Durocher which would also fit in with the old timers day theme.
