Default The fantasy baseball Gods are not being kind this week. Check this out..

In the last three days, my starting pitchers (save for Wily Peralta, who was a last minute addition on my part) have been absolutely spectacular. Yet I'll have nothing to show for it. Why? None of my starters got any run support. Literally. Check these performances out:

Thursday night, I had Derek Holland of the Rangers going against the depleted offense of the New York Yankees.

Holland threw seven innings, giving up two runs. He lost 2-0. The Rangers did not put up a single run while he pitched. Holland lost.

Friday night, it got better.

Matt Harvey, in what is becoming a reoccurring theme, pitched eight innings, allowing no earned runs (one unearned), and left with the score tied 1-1. The Mets bullpen blew it in the ninth. No decision for Harvey.

But tonight took the cake.

First, I had Julio Teheran, the young stud pitcher for Atlanta, going against the Cardinals. He threw seven innings of two hit shutout ball. Of course, the Braves didn't score until the eighth, when Teheran was no longer the pitcher of record. No decision again.

Next, Chris Sale and the White Sox were going up against the Royals at home. Sale pitched a complete game, allowing a lone run. He lost, as the Sox, too, did not score a single run in support.

Finally, I had Madison Bumgarner going tonight against the Cubs. He pitched eight innings of shutout ball, and left with the score tied at zero. That's right, the Giants scored no runs in support of their starter. The Cubs won it in the ninth. No decision again.

So, my five starting pitchers threw a combined 39 innings, allowing 3 earned runs. The five men put up a composite ERA of 0.69, and I ended up with zero wins and two losses from their performances, because the Rangers, Mets, Braves, White Sox and Giants scored one run in the 39 innings they pitched.

I've been playing fantasy baseball a long time, and I don't ever recall seeing so many terrible offensive efforts in a three night span. Have you guys ever had a stretch like that?
