I think the "guaranteed to pay for itself" must be referring to him, not the buyer.

$40,000 is a steal considering that it could be worth millions to the right fan. It's nice to know that even in this economy, people can still afford drugs

I like his Jordan floor card. So rare it won't show up on google! And yet numbered to 2500.

With everything being "Orrigional" I figured he'd have some Bruins stuff.

It would appear that sheer ignorance of the hobby, and a lack of understanding about how the real world works, may be his reason for overpricing the hell out of it. He's putting way to much stock into the "Greer Johnson Collection" crap, and of course the low print run seems to be confusing the hell out of him as well. He's got the correlation between rare and expensive completely wrong, as he apparently left demand out of the equation.

Sure, he's got something that there aren't "exactly" a lot of, but he fails to factor in that there are a bunch of other items that are "extremely similar" to it.

It says at the end "Serious Biders Only" , so I will seriously bide my time 'til the price comes down!

i dont understand what possesses these people. are they really that far out in left field. i see this sometimes. rocky marciano cuts sell for about 400, if someone wants to sell one for 700 or 800, no problem, but there will always be that guy who lists it for 4000.

I love the comment "it's rare when they have the bats over their shoulders." I want to say 80% of Mantle picks have his bat over his shoulder. He also needs to spell check on "guarenteed". No way this guy is over 13.

Lots of time when these people list these auctions at crazy prices, they have no intentions of selling, its just to get a "quick opinion" from PSA/DNA on the items authenticity.

It's not you.

Perhaps this seller believes that, like a fine wine, signatures become more valuable when they show their age.
