Default unidentified matchbooks

Posted By: Alan Elefson

Hi-
As stated in previous posts, I am a flea market nut (I arrive at the best flea markets in New England as early as 4:00am, becuase if you are late, someone else will find what you are looking for). Recently I found four matchbooks that I had never seen before, and I am requesting the help of the board to determine the year of issue, possible market value, and whether or not there are more to this "set". The four matchbooks are posted below. There are two Matthewsons (both the same), as well as a McGraw and a Knute Rockne. These might be from post WWII, so I apologize if they are. The latest date is on the Rockne matchbook stating an accomplishment from 1930. The dealer I bought these from had a huge matchbook collection from the 30s-50s (no other sports ones). Any help you might be able to provide is greatly appreciated.

At a quick glance the style/font would place them sometime in the 50's. Interesting pieces, I have never seen examples before.
