Default New E254 Colgan's discovery

I picked this up with a group of tins. I purchased the group just to have as display pieces to go along with my E254's that I sell at shows; the card was stuck in the bottom of one of the containers.

I have been collecting Colgan's for almost 20 years and have never seen anything like it; name above the head and no team affiliation. It also has a "208" back, which is a super difficult back variation; likely produced at the end of the E254 print runs in 1911.

Since Kroh was a Louisville player; maybe the cards were only being distributed locally as the they wound down production of the E254's...no need to include the team name? Kroh does appear in the E254 set, with name and team affiliation depicted as on the other E524's.

Unless an argument is made that the 208's should be considered as their own set, this would bring the number of cards in the set to 290.

Nice pickup, John!

I love it when "new" stuff shows up in old sets!

Way to go John. Now that's something to Kroh about!
