How long has everyone been coming here?

The earliest post I could find for myself was April 2003, which means I'll have been coming here 4 years next month. Hard to believe it's really been that long. What a difference between what I knew then and what I know now. How about the rest of you?

I think November of 2004. It was about the same time that Robert Plancich was posting all the stuff about fake game used memorabilia and it split the board up.

I used to post on the old Fullcount bb once in a blue moon, but mostly lurked there. I may have posted here shortly after it was started but don't remember for sure. I stopped following it and collecting for a few years when I bought my current house and started law school, and picked it up again in Fall of 05.

As a side question, how did you find your earliest post? Is there a way to search by poster?

When I first came here I used to always sign off posts with my full name. I did a search by date for my name on the Main Index and April '03 was the earliest post that popped up.

Barry says I'm no longer a newbie, but I've been posting for only about 5 months. It was board members than convinced me to start collecting the '33 Goudey set. I love it so far. Thanks.

I've enjoyed learning about prewar vintage cards. But I still put my foot in my mouth once in a while. The other day I got confused between scarce and rare. Well I still have a lot to learn.

About two years for me. Someone directed me to this forum. It seems I had been the subject of a thread because I was trying to sell a Cobb on Ebay for more than what it was probably worth. They were right, but I sure wish I had that Cobb back now.

A couple years I guess. i can't recall how I found the site. i have obtained many cards from very nice forum members that otherwise would have taken years to locate, if then. And I have sold many to to others as well. I like flying under the radar. It makes things much easier most of the time. My collection continues to grow, thanks to many of the other members. And to those few who have not been so kind, thats OK as well. have a great weekend everyone.

I think the first time I posted on the old Fullcount board was about a year into it...it started in about 1998, and I posted on it about 1999....and I will gracefully bow to this site's originator, Elliot, and say I was responsible for the 2nd post on this board, instead of the first....It was about Aug-Sept of 2001...I still think this is a great place to talk cards....and has certainly fueled my addiction. I think this site is responsible, in part, for many folks addictions...

I had the 3rd post on the board supposedly,Leon still thinks he was #2 so until someone overthrows him ill agree to be #3 for now. I also posted regularly on the fullcount board for at least a year

I lurked and posted periodically when Elliot was the MD and watched this grow under Bill and now Leon. Before people didn't really care if you posted with a screen name. It looks like the tide has changed and now people don't like that, oh well. I've made a few good friends here and I've met a few really good posters and people that no longer post. This place is a great virtual connection to this hobby. I've read a few other boards but this one is tops.

for me it was late 2004, when someone on this board accused me of selling a fake t206 cobb on ebay...needless to say, several other board members came to my rescue and confirmed the card was in fact real...i hold no grudge and at the same time i thank him for turning me onto this site

I'm definitely a newbie, Feb. of this year. Was on the Beckett board and was pointed this way when I had questions regarding '33 Goudeys and Wide Pens. What a great resource and also it seems to be a close knit group of people. Even with the occasional squabble, which actually makes it that much more interesting, it is the best I have found.

Regarding my vintage questions, my thanks to Tim Newcomb for pointing me to the "Old Cardboard" publications. I just received my back issues that included his articles on wide/thin pens of the '30's, fantastic reading and I have been able to categorize my collection. I can't wait until my first current issue gets here.

In my short time on the board, I have learned a lot, bought from a board member, and been given collecting advice and wisdom that I just didn't expect to find.
