Default EBAY GONE MAD!

Posted By: Jason Duncan

As alot of you know, lately with new ebay feedback policies they have really screwed some sellers. As a result of some malicious buying lately, and some unwarranted negs lately, I was suspended from ebay until further notice. I have spoken with them about the situation and caught them in a bag of many conradictions. I do not have time this morning to go into the details, but will post my latest issue.

I recently purchased an item from fellow member David Rosenberg on ebay 1888 N29 Queckenberger GAI 3. I promptly paid David a refund from an item he won from me that I accidentally sent to PSA from a previous auction. Anyway I included payment for the Queckenberger on 5/27.08 Check #5535 and sent it returned receipt. He signed and sent it back to me acknowledging payment. Quite a bit later on I recieve the card. I am sad to report today that David filed a non- paying bidder strike against me on ebay to get his fees back even though I paid for the item. It saddens me that he did this knowing that while suspended I have no recourse. I cannot even properly dispute the item until I am back on. He knew this and took advantage. I would reccommend that David (collect_abit) Make it right and remove the strike.

I reccommend all buyers beware of this type of malice. In the meantime you may see alot of my nice stuff enter the B/S/T threads here soon.

Jason

He gave me a real hard time once... really made me feel crappy all while he was being selfish. He ended up not getting what he wanted, but told me he'd refuse to do business with me ever again (this coming after I had sent him a lot of freebies).

He later won the disputed card on eBay for much less than his original offer, paid me, said something stern and that was that.

What I hate about ebay now is that when you sell something and the buyer just flat out lies to you about payment, it takes forever before you get credited for FVF and can relist it. Meanwhile, the buyer goes his merry way without even being able to get a negative feedback when he stiffs you. It's a stupid new policy...

I guess I'm misunderstanding something here. I understand that negative feedback does not disqualify a seller/buyer, etc. Disqualification from Ebay is due to repeated nonpayments for a buyer or nondelivery of items for a seller--regardless of feedback. It seems to me that it would be easy to prove either and thus nullify any misguided claims. Proof of payment is easy, as is proof of delivery(with proper postal services).

In my experience Ebay has provided me (albeit as a buyer) proper notification and opportunity to defend my stance. I do see how both sides could take advantage of the system for personal issues though (but that would be dishonest--and we know card people are not dishonest ).

Darren-

My suspension was due to some feedback issues that DIDNT violate any ebay rules. They solely did this based on opinion and admitted it to me on the phone. They are taking sides 100% with buyers regardless of any situation. I am not in a real hurry to get back on. My issue had nothing to do with non payment or non delivery of any item.

The only problems I have ever had on ebay (not very many) as a seller concerned non-card transactions. Card buyers have always been great.

Hey Jason, were you vintage*investments? If so, I bought a T202 from you in April and it was a smooth transaction with no regrets. Sorry you're getting screwed by eBay's system. My wife and I stopped selling on FeeBay when they announced their new system. We decided it was a lot easier to sell some stuff in a good 'ol garage sale (we made over $400 saturday) and I've sold a few cards the past couple days on the B/S/T. So there's certainly other options you can explore. Perhaps if enough sellers leave eBay for greener pastures, eBay might get a hint and try to fix the mess they've made.

Hang in there, I'm pullin' for ya!

I have flawless feedback as a seller and take my reputation very seriously. My 3,500+ positive eBay feedbacks versus 6 or 7 problem seller transactions in 10 years on eBay should be enough proof for reasonably minded people. All of the negatives I received were as a buyer and left in retaliation for leaving negatives. You have all been there! I consider it a service to the collecting community and do not take kindly to non selling sellers or opportunistic shippers. Jason did not deliver an eBay win, communicates terribly, and then purchased a cheap item from me to avoid the negative feedback I was going to leave. He did the exact same to others. I made some posts about Jason and he begged me to remove them and take things private so I did but when the tables are turned he takes things public. Until a check clears from a NARU eBay member with problem after problem, yes, I do not consider the transaction finalized and delivered the card immediately with Signature Confirmation. eBay is not going to help me if the member is banned. I am not going to be out eBay fees and receive negative feedback too for no reason. I was not made whole on the first purchase (my postage and time). I do not expect to recoup time but if you screw up, making someone whole is smart business. Prompt refund from Jason...close to 2 months later only after posting on Net54, 2 phone calls and about 15 emails? You are a bad (business)person and the friends you keep to support your lame cause in this thread are laughable and speaks volumes. I do not feel the need to respond to the other well known s-disturbers and disliked hobby outcasts that have way more negative feedbacks in much fewer transactions.

As a follow up, since this post was bumped, Jason's has been kicked off eBay (NARU - no longer a registered member) and I have not reveived any other negatives and as buyer or seller as of 12/04/08. Once again, as a seller, I have 100% positive feedback! This is the only thing I can control. As a buyer, out of 10,000+ purchases, I have had 20 or so issues with sellers. 1 our of 500 is not bad. If anyone else feels you have been taken advantage by me, I am happy to make things right. I am not hiding and take my reputation seriously. Thank you.

David-

You are a complete LIAR! When I am back up I will be appealing the transaction with ebay and we will see what happens! You are trying to manipulate the system and take advantage of me while I can do nothing about it. David you are the little weasel that everyone else has been confirming. Everything in your story is false. Quit trying to take the heat off of yourself and justifying your stupid actions. You will reap what you sow before long.

You two guys are fighting on three different threads at the same time, and at this moment they are the top three threads on the home page. That is unacceptable. You need to take this long running argument offline.

Leon,

I think you need to add a special section for grievances. They seem to be a popular topic these days. I have had great transactions with both people in this thread. Maybe they can solve this offline?

Solve it offline? Like two mature adults? Without calling each other names on an Internet message board?

What a concept.

I won't stop people from bickering on the board.....That's not my idea of good moderating...at the same time I won't let the board be consumed with it.....Hope everyone understands my position.....best regards and happy collecting..

edited to add.....I don't like the bickering and wish it would be taken off line too....but as long as names are by posts, and it's only 1 thread, then so be it...

The only defense I think I need is to state exactly what happened.

The initial selling price between DR and my first deal was his initial offer. I didn't counter, I accepted, and shipped fully insured for free. When he expressed interest in owning more of the cards, I acquired another set solely for the purpose of giving him the lower values cards in the set for free. When the other cards in the set graded strong, he wanted them to boost his set registry. We worked a trade where I would trade him higher grade cards for his lower grade plus cash.

When I acquired the best card in the set as a PSA 9, he wanted it for his registry. I thought he initial offer was too low, and rejected it. DR got mad, we didn't complete a deal offline, and he ended up winning the card for less than his initial offer.

If you're going to blame me for you calling yourself uneducated, that's BS.

EDITED to add that up until the last card DR wanted from me, he was a pleasure to deal with. When he felt like I was trying hose him and not give him a deal, he completely changed face. Otherwise, I enjoyed our deals.

Long Time Lurker: My 2 cents

I will never buy from any of the parties who have decided to air their (childish) dirty laundry on this forum. You gentlemen are the reason our wonderful hobby is looked at with so much disdain by non-collectors.

Tell me you all couldn't have picked up a phone and worked this out? Instead we have 200+ posts of childish tantrum gibberish. NO ONE CARES.

So many incredible hobbyists that frequent this board, who give their knowledge, time, research....and its drowned out by 2-3 6-year olds who feel the need to subject us with their petty rantings.

Gimmie your cards.

Stop collecting.

For Reals.

To all members who have been suspended...I to was suspended on eBay and it took over 6 weeks to get my account reinstated. I deal mostly with designer clothing and have done over 3000 positive transactions. If you've been limited I suggest calling everyday and trying to get it resolved asap as eBay is horrible with customer service in my situation they told me to:
fix my paypal disputes, once finished they told me to fix my sister's account since we have the same address, once finished - then fix her paypal disputes, then send faxes of receipts then they wanted invoices of specific items. Every time I accomplished something I would email them and they would reply in 3 days telling me to do something else. Ebay is horrible with their new policies and customer service and I do not think they will change their ways simply because they don't have to. It would be nice for the seller not to be treated like a crook just 1 out of 10 times.

Good thing he qualified his feedback as a seller being flawless. Appears to be a complicated buyer at 98.3% in the last 12 months. Now with sellers not having the ability to leave negatives this guy might be on the top of the list to avoid.

My experience on eBay recently has been somewhat of a nightmare, but my latest deal takes the cake. WHile I was very temporarily suspended Ebay dealer David Rosenberg AKA iofferings, AKA collect_abit took advantage of me and the ebay system to file a non paying bidder strike against me knowing I COULD NOT RESPOND. As a result ebay has removed my ability to leave appropriate feedback even though he lied and frauded the system. After speaking to several others I found out that this is common practice for David. BUYER BEWARE!

By the way...I sent payment with delivery confirmation which he signed and returned and I had my winning item a week before he turned me in for non paying strike. Talking to others i know this is common practice to buyer BEWARE.

This is the longest running feud since the Hatfields and the McCoys. Let's put a sock in it.

I would prefer them not to argue on the board but it is hobby related....If I/we moderators ask them to keep it in one thread, and they keep it semi-civil, do ya'll think it should be stopped by a moderator? I don't, but always listen to the collective wisdom of the board....besides I barely have a choice ....

I suggest letting Jason continue to bury himself. If he's not able to realize that he's beating a dead horse and putting himself in a bad light, so be it.

I think this is pertinent and if people don't want to read it there are plenty of other threads for them to read or reread. What happened to Jason can happen to any of us who sell on eBay under their new polices. How often do people on this forum bring up unethical eBay sellers? Why should bringing up unethical buyers be prohibited or result in a locked thread?

As ridiculous as this has gotten, I agree with Leon that it shouldn’t be stopped by the board. If you’re tired of it, just quit opening the thread.

Rob, Dan, Barry

I understand what you mean, but in this case I have been completely ripped off and David has really went too far with manipulating ebay. I have refunded him and paid him for cards he left a negative for and also filed a non paying strike against me. I am sick of the buyer abuse and that is why I am done with ebay. Look for my stuff in the future in the B/S/T. If you do not like things being brought up just skip the thread. It is important for me to air this out where good collectors frequent. I have been a member here for many years and have not caused any problems or harm to anyone on here. I think I should be given the benefit here.

As far as Steve (Winpitcher) he likes to follow me around like a pesky mesquito and try to be annoying. I just ignore him and focus on the issues at hand. Let me say I really enjoy the hobby, but it may look like my selling days are over considering I build my collection on buying and selling mostly online. I call eBay today and they will not do anything or reverse anything EVEN if I am right and he is wrong. All they will do is investigate and possibly suspend him. They will not reove his neg or let me leave one.

How about if we rename this.......Collectors and Hobbiest Really sick of Juvenile fights carried out on a public forum.

I only spend about five thousand a year on this hobby, a little fish in a sea of whales, but damn it, I'm getting tired of all of these disputes that should be handled as gentleman and ladies.

Just my 2 cents worth from a little fish.

Question! I have only perused this thread, but if DR manipulated the system to get back the sellers fees, what's the big deal? I know Ebay owes me lots of fees for when I accidently submit something twice and delete one immediately, but get charged twice. They say I can get a refund, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get my money back.

I appreciate you letting people know about the buyers who conduct themselves with this kind of behavior. It will save me a lot of grief knowing this. Thanks for letting me know! Something needs to be done about them!

How about we have a cock-fighting, horse-racing, eBay cheating, bad-seller, bad-buyer, repubs are good, dems are bad, dems are good, repubs are bad, thread all rolled into one? Everyone can spew all their venom in that one thread, discuss all of their beliefs, have them dissected by others who don't share them, call each other names, and generally get all of that out of their system. Then, the remainder of the threads can be about crazy stuff like cards. We could have one long, moving train-wreck thread instead of the many we have had recently. Just a thought.

So much for ignoring me, and, your above statement is a bold face LIE.

I have NOTHING to do with you and Ebay. Your last paragraph implies that I do. Please retract.

And FWIW I too have been a member here for a few years and do not follow you around so please don't flatter yourself.

The bottom line is what has happened to you on ebay is EXACTLY like what you have done to other people.

YES you too have manipulated the feedback system! Or did you forget the time you had Ted give you a positive only to

Neg him! And if my memory serves me didn't you just this past month buy from the very same people here in a lame

attempt at having the ability to neg them?

Yes Mr. Duncan what comes around goes around.
