Default A Trivia Question

Without peeking at the record books!!!!!.....During the 20th century, there were five different pitchers that each won 35 or more games during a season...how many can you name without cheating?

Walter Johnson was 36-7, I believe in 1913.

And Matty won 37. (and I didn't look them up).

1904 Jack Chesbro 41-12
1908 Ed Walsh 40-15
1908 Christy Mathewson 37-11
1913 Walter Johnson 36-7
1904 Joe McGinnity 35-8

Good job, fellas! My next question will have to be super obscure.

Let's start a new one: name all the players who got 7 or more hits in a major league game. I can name five, but there may be more.

I know 7 is the record for a nine inning game, set by Wilbert Robertson and tied by Rennie Stennet, and the extra inning record is 9 held by Johnny Burnett.

That's three. The other two I know were done in a 10 inning game, and a 22 inning game (there's a hint).

Peter- they haven't finished answering mine yet. But I can give the answers.

The other two are Cesar Guitierrez(sp) and Rocky Colavito.
