Default Don’t celebrate too hard - 1099s delayed again

It’s unlikely to presage the return of eBay as a destination for great stuff at reasonable prices. But our good friends at internal revenue have decided to wait another year on 1099 reporting.

Just for you, I appended a subtitle to clarify the source of any celebrations.

I got a kick out of it. I thought, do people really party that hard on Thanksgiving?

agreed in full.

I don't need the 177th explanation on the 600 dollar number and why it was used, I got it. It is though, without a better legal term, stupid.

I love that in the zeal to get a few more bucks we want to treat some shlub from Gary, Indiana like Sam Walton for having an online garage sale and making 700 bucks on some used clothes he spent 2700.00 on new and already paid taxes once at retail.

I also think that they seem to realize the ARP is a confusing and convoluted mess. Sending out millions of 1099s that send a college grad or newly married couple into shock as all their cash app gifts trigger a tax burden they don't understand how to remove, during an upcoming election year is not something those in power want right now. They are looking to slowly turn up the temp on the frog on the stove so he doesn't realize he's boiling.
