Uhhhh.... These are older scans. I didn't realize I overwrote when I resized a couple. I'll guess I'll have to rescan them later.

So that's where all the T205 Raymonds are!! I have been looking for one since 1911. Am trying to complete a Giants T205 subset and hereby offer a pathetic plea to you to consider helping out a fellow collector this being Christmas season, spirit of giving, goodwill to all etc etc.

PS. Is anybody else reminded of Krazy Kat when they read DK's posts?

He hasn't shown up yet but no one, and I mean no one, will be able to beat the 1911 Obak Miller hoard.

P.S. I'll post mine later tonight.

Here's the "Koteles style subset" of my slowly growing Gibson collection.

If anyone is looking to part with a T206 Gibson with a SOV350, Hindu, Old Mill or SC350.F30 back in comparable condition to those above, please contact me.

Regards,

Richard.

ever seen the episode of the Flintstones where a space ship comes down and clones 12 Freds? They all go; " Yabba.......dabba......do" with long pauses. This series of Gibson cards reminds me of that or Popeye's nephews!

Here you go Steve (to be fair this is a mix of 1910 and 1911 T212s):

These have been added since that picture was taken (and I think there was one other):

Two other T212s are now with family members.

Here are my 1911 Zeenuts, my parents have the 7th one:

And finally, my Home Run Kisses - my grandfather now has the 3rd one:

I can now see why Miller is on most 1911 Zeenut wantlists. I was lucky to get mine with a BIN of $30 on ebay last month. Trimmed to the bone but still a very nice pickup.

Steve,
I did not want to hear that you picked that up on eBay. Now I have to kick myself for missing it You must have got to it before my saved searches could find it; I definitely would have hit the button if I had seen it. This is a good example of where a seller left a lot of money on the table by offering a Buy It Now.

Thanks for the link. Congrats on that pickup. But don't you think that card is lonely and would like to be reunited with its identical siblings?

Hey Richard. As soon as I saw the scan of your George Gibson cards I figured you must be a fellow Canuck and then I saw your login name to remove all doubt. I wonder how many Canadians belong to this group.

John if you need any further evidence, note that my email address is also on a .ca domain. But what can I say? I'm Canadian through and through. My Gibson collection is partly inspired by the fact that he was born (and died) about an hour from where I live.

As for the amount of Canadian content on this board, good question. I'd be curious to know how big the 'vintage collection community' is north of the border.

Shoot me an email if you wanna continue this so we don't get this thread too far off topic.

Regards,

Richard.

Edited a second time to remove the question I added the first time. Brian answered it in another thread.

I know of two collectors that completely exemplify this style of collecting. One is a lurker who probably has more T206 Lobert cards than any one single collector out there. The other is a regular poster that has more N172 Corcoran cards than anyone else out there. I think the Corcoran family has filed a restraining order against John. The family also moved his grave site to an unspecified location in fear of having the grave robbed.

Jim,

While I obviously can't speak for anyone else, my excuse is that I wanted to get a few different examples of T206 backs. When I decided to re-focus my collectione exclusively on George Gibson cards, collecting the backs he appears on seemed like a good way to meet both objectives.

As odd as this may sound, it's actually been fun hunting for, and collecting these 7 T206s. I think when I finally make it to 11 I will move on to T205s. With only 70-80 cards in the entire "collection", focusing on backs is also a way for me to make this phase of my collection last longer.

Regards,

Richard.

I bought a Corcoran card about 10 years ago from Larry Fritsch and it was one of the first 2 OJ cards i bought and he was by far the best player he had available. When i first got a computer and got on ebay Corcoran was the first player available and it was only $40 so i bought it thinking it was cool to have 2 of the same player. A month or so later another one showed up and it was a different pose and cheap so i won it.Not knowing just how rare OJs were i thought it was an accomplishment to have 3 OJs of them same player.I obviously underestimated their population because they kept showing up once every 4 months or so and i kept buying them thinking another one wouldnt show up.

I think im about half way there now so i plan on giving up....just as soon as i get that other half
