Default The Sports Writers on TV - Chicago - 1991

Stumbled across this, if you were in or around Chicago in the early 90's you probably watched this weekly.

These guys were great. Sat around a table talking about everything sports, smoking cigars and disagreeing and arguing.

There are 7 parts, here is the 1st one. Starts with them comparing an aging Nolan Ryan to the younger Roger Clemens. They eventually in one of the parts talk about old Photos, Babe Ruth, Eddie Gaedel, etc.

The commercials seem ancient, but it was only the 90's, crazy how time flies.

also includes a segment on Old Comiskey Park and they pick their best players at each position throughout White Sox history.

I guess they were syndicated because I used to watch the show on TV here in Houston. Good stuff.

+1 I used to watch in Connecticut. It was like being back in Chicago.

I grew up in the Chicago area and loved that show. Loved them even more when they were on the radio every Saturday or Sunday. This was do-not-miss radio and television.

Bill Gleason's son collects cards and attends all the Gonzaga shows in Milwaukee. He's a super nice guy and always has a story or two about his dad.

I grew up in Chicago and have very fond memories of watching that show. Loved the interaction between the four.

I liked that show a lot when I was living in the greater Chicago area. I also liked another Chicago classic, the Jim Shorts Cavalcade of Sports!

Oh Ya, watched that show often. It was a TV version of the WGN radio show which was great...Ben Bentley, Jerome Holtzman, Rick Telander...

Anybody by chance know of where you can see old episodes of the Sportswriters?

There are a few on YouTube that are great, but only a handful.
