March Pickups....
With just hours to go until March, I figured why not start it with what I received today. A huge thank you to Cerberus!

It's been a busy 2013, especially lately!
It's been a really good month so far -- when it rains it pours, I guess.
First, I reacquire three old friends of mine, signed T205s of Doyle, Bridwell and Jones: Then, I acquired this really tough signed T206 of Al Bridwell -- love the specificity of the date on the back (yes, Bridwell always signed on the back of tobacco cards for some reason): Lastly, I added another T201 with the Jefferson Burdick stamp. I now have two!

Mac,
That's a great card. I bought it off eBay about two years ago before sending it to Joe in a deal. I thought long and hard about keeping it and selling the one I have that's in a 3 holder, because that one is such a nice-looking card. Who cares that it's in an "A" holder? Really nice pickup. Rob |

I'll either be smiling or crying when it arrives, but will defer on player i.d. until I can get a better look at it. So far, smiling:

The Donovan is an upgrade (yet still trimmed); Bradley is new. Now at 64. BTW, I think my scanner has a dead spot as the "I" in Rice is missing on the scan of the Bradley, but it is on the card. Weird. Time for a new V33 I guess.

t211 Moran for trade
img003.jpg
img006.jpg Somehow I wound up winning two T211 Moran's recently. I would like to trade one of the Moran's for another T211 or similar set. Liking the new scanner, thanks to those that suggested buying a ccd scanner. |

I like the centering on the sgc 60 better.

For me it would be the Piedmont but only by a hair. They are really close and it is more about what appeals to you more. I think the Piedy has a bit better centering.....but that is just my opinion. I think you should just keep both.

Thanks guys I was thinking the same but the color on the 55 was just a tad better and the centering on the 60 was better...so I was beating my head aginst the wall a bit.

Awesome card! I am a Hornsby fan and this card shows his swagger. I also like that you can see his baseball glove in his pocket.

Picked this up. Obvious condition issues but you just don;t run across them that often. Maybe down the road a chance to upgrade.

I'd sell both and buy more OJs
Seriously, I think the Piedmont back Matty looks better, not sure why I think this, it just seems like it has better color/registration.

John, your OJs are ridiculous!
I'll throw in a vote for the Sweet Cap. The surface looks much cleaner, the Piedmont looks like its been handled more. If the SC didn't have the slight diamond cut it would be an even easier decision, for me. |
