Default What do you think of this letter?

I came across this letter. Wondering what you all think. Any ideas on value? Would you say this is letter from Stuffy McInnis?

Any help much appreciated.

Regards

Jon

Default STUFFY MCINNIS letter

I think you have a great piece.Stuffy was one of the early stars of the game having played with some of the early 1900 PHIL. A,S teams .Even though he signs his name "stuffy';the fact that he makes reference to" mrs mciness"is cool in that you are still get his full sig .I am thinking the value with the interesting content might make the piece about 400.00.If you had the original envelope with it might increase the price a bit.

Yes, I think it is a McGinnis letter. No idea of value, but, to me letters with some content like this one are far superior to other things that might have a full autograph. Also, McGinnis did stop coaching at Harvard in 1954, as the letter suggests.

I thought we established a rule that you must provide a transcript whenever posting handwritten letters/autographs?

Here's what I got:

June 7, 1954

Dear Mr. Ellis,

Enclosed find tickets for you and Mrs. Ellis for the Yale game on the 16th.

My thanks for your very kind letter - I appreciate your sentiments, perhaps doubly so at this time, as I am leaving Harvard at the close of the season.

I have enjoyed our association and your support thru good days and bad.

Mrs. McInnis joins me in sending every good wish to you both.

Sincerely,
“Stuffy”

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

Thanks Darren. A good rule that I was unaware of. Much appreciated for the help.

Oh, I was just being facetious. It was a 'rule' I somewhat humorously suggested a while back to save anyone reading a thread like this some time.

This has nothing to do with the original post but figured I wouldn’t clutter up the board.

For those who know Ban Johnson autographs, does this letter look good?

My only advice is never for any reason ask that seller any questions during the auction.
