Default Heritage Auction Extended Bidding?

I've won a couple of auctions with Heritage before... but that was a few years ago with the older site. Have they change the way they do their extended bidding on the newer site?

I bid on a lot, (I was the the first bidder)..... I was watching the clock go down for the normal bidding period. I log out..log back in...went to the auction page for the item..( where I made my initial bid).and there was no spot for me to enter my bid in the extend bidding period. At the bottom of the page in red it is .."extended bidding in progress"

I then went to the method where you do a "last minute bid" ....where they display all the items, you place your bids...and this way you can bid on multiple auctions lot at once. I place my bid on the only auction bid on and it said..sorry it's now close, even though there should of been plenty of time left before closing. Went back to the auction page and it said...extended bidding in progress" still at the bottom.

Can someone help me on what I'm did wrong?

You have to bid by 10:00 pm CST on a lot to be eligible for the extended bidding portion which closes lot by lot after 30 minutes of no bids on that particular lot.

So either you were trying to bid on a lot that you had not bid on prior OR that lot had closed as of 10:30 pm CST as no one may have placed a bid during the extended bidding.

Rereading your post, I would guess you were the only bidder and the lot closed at 10:00 pm CST

Log into your Heritage account and look at "My Bids", this should have all the lots you bid on during the initial bidding, winners and losers.

My bid was placed on Feb. 4th. So, my bid was in before the deadline to make initial bids. I got an email my bid was place...and under "My Bids" it shows I bid. There was 6 bidders on this lot. So it should of gone for at least 1 round of extended period. I'm surprise this lot didn't go up more in extended bidding...or maybe there was no extended bidding on this lot altogether?

Default Heritage Bidding

Sorry you missed out on the lot. The way Heritage ends auctions has been the same for some years now. I saw your post and asked our IT dept. if there were any technical problems and they said no.

At 10:00 pm central open bidding ends and the 30-minute clock (extended bidding) is in effect. If you do not have a bid on a lot prior to 10:00 pm central then that lot will look "closed" to you starting at exactly 10:00 pm but will still open to eligible bidders.

If you looked at the lot and it was closed to you and you did bid during the open session then it must have been after 10:30 pm.

Email me your full name and I'll look into it if you want me to.

Peter

Hey Peter,

Thanks for a reply. I was just trying to figure out if it was a user error issue or a glitch that happen that others may have experienced. I'll send you a quick email later on tonight or tomorrow.
