No problem, Richard. Always happy to help out a fellow T205 collector. The back run looks great!

My pre-war National pick-up and the card I went up to Cleveland to find. I've been looking for a nice Matty portrait in "5" for a couple of years and the National didn't disappoint. This card represents my 33rd different T206 HOFer.

Thanks Derek! I hope it's a real auto Someone I've dealt with before, so I feel pretty confident. Dropped it off at the PSA booth, so I'll know for sure pretty soon.

I knocked a few want list cards off at the National but this was my favorite pickup of the show. Thank you to the guys at Clean Sweep for the deal. Couldnt resist the Virginia Brights ladies any longer. Decent enough for starters.

Default Vander Meer addition

..Just added the Burke " 4 x 6" to the very short master set of Johnny Vander Meer playing years baseball cards.
.. The others in the scan are : 1937-1939 Orcajo Val Decker subset , the Orcajo regular issue (although why they selected that particular pose " leaping catch " for a pitcher escapes me) and a generous portion of the Huskies Whole Wheat Flakes Cereal Premium (not enough space on my scanner glasstop so I must apologize to the rest of Frank McCormick )

..

Default Ruth RRPC

Picked this up recently as I thought it was just cool. 3.75x5.5 RRPC from 1933.

Since it was mailed from DC I'm assuming this is from the first game of a double header that happened on May 31st against Washington that Ruffing pitched (postcard was mailed on 6/9).

He lost the game so maybe he should have been more concentrated on warming up rather than the guy taking the photo of Ruth.

Cool Ruth RPPC, missed that one on ebay! Here's a few new photos I got yesterday:

First are two 1919 snapshots of Jim Bottomley (pictured at right in both photos). These snapshots show Jim as a teenager playing semi-professional baseball for the F G Aces. Soon after, Jim was discovered by Branch Rickey and signed with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Next is a cool 1922 photograph (5.5" x 3.5") of four Omaha Buffaloes players. Seated from left to right are: George Grantham, Heinie Manush, James Wilcox & Pug Griffin

Thanks for the cool photos Derek!

Hi-

I actually just sold that exact item in a local (MA) auction this past Monday. I am not sure if yours is the same or not. On mine the Ruth picture was loose so I could see the back which was blank. I believed my item to be a 1980s or newer fantasy/reproduction item based on the lack of aging and overall appearance. Did you get it in MA? I assumed the auction was going to place it in a bulk lot so hopefully, if it was mine, you didn't pay much for it. I think it displays nicely regardless.

Alan

Awesome ‘28 Hafey! I’ve always wanted that card but could never find one. Would love the ‘27 Middy Bread as well, but I’ve never seen one of those either.

I normally don’t post until I have the card in-hand, but I’m really excited about this pickup at LOTG last night. It’s not every day you win a card for less than your max bid. And it’s not every auction house that you can actually trust with a max bid! Obviously LOTG is one of the rare ones.

Nice DJ, I was hoping you were the one who won that lot. Those red Crofts are so cool.

Orlando- if I knew how to make a clapping-hands emoji, I would drop one here. Congrats

Sweet pickup! Took a good long look at that card at the National and it is really really nice! I was chasing the Wagner 1899 and went to sleep with what I thought was a safe max bid. It was not. That was a hard one to lose! Congrats on the postcard. You won’t regret that one!
