Default Yogi Berra's museum....a must see

While visiting with older daughter, Debbie, this weekend in Montclair (NJ).....we went to nearby Yogi Berra's museum.
It is situated on the Montclair State University campus. There is some great Yogi memorabilia on display (including his
14 Yankees Championship rings).

But, it's not all Yogi stuff. The displays start with the NY Highlanders and some great photos and memorabilia of that
era of Chase, Chesbro, Cobb, Johnson, Matty, CYoung, etc. And of course, there is some great photos and memora-
bilia of Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. Including a beautifully signed Ruth and Gehrig (red/blue stitched) ball that was do-
nated by it's original owner. Also, one of Gehrig's bats, which surprisingly is not a "big club".

Proceeding thru the museum, there are some really great photos and items of Bill Dickey, Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams,
Joe McCarthy, Casey Stengel, etc., etc. Plus, lots of photos and memorabilia of Yogi's fellow teammates from 1946 -
1963. Including a bronzed glove....the mitt with which Yogi caught Don Larsen's perfect game.

Just giving you some hi-lights of this "mini-Hall of Fame" attraction.....so, check it out.

Default Fred Y......

When you enter Yogi's museum you will first be confronted by a life-size model of a cow.
Yogi and Phil Rizzuto were very close buddies. Many ballplayers have signed their names
on this cow....look it over closely and you will "crack-up" laughing.

That's all I'm going to tell you

I took the on-line tour! I'll bet that cow is hilarious, for sure!

Do they take cash to get in the museum, or do you need money?

Thanks for posting this. I took the online tour also - it looks like a great place to
spend an afternoon. Too bad I'm in California.
