Default OT: A Taxing problem for card sellers

Anyone figured out how to charge and pay the various city sales taxes within your state? I charge a flat rate for Washington state residents, regardless of what city they are located in, then pay Seattle and the state. On top of that, not only do I pay Seattle tax, Washington charges city tax on top of state tax, producing a massive table of cities for me to choose from, and each city seems to charge their own rate. This has got to be less complicated than I'm making it. Meanwhile, I undercharge and overpay, so everyone should be happy.

Default OT: A Taxing problem for card sellers

New York has a relatively simple table for combined state and locality rates. Most often the localities are counties, but there are a handful of municipalities that have opted to establish their own taxing jurisdictions, so a seller needs to be aware of those exceptions. The problem for me has been knowing where card are to be shipped prior to telling the buyer how much to write his check for. I always forget this and wind up eating the tax.

Same for me - I want buyers to have the easiest check-out possible, so I use ebay's tables and enter my erroneous information, then eat the extra taxes.

I just let my accountant take care of it all. Makes it much less of a headache for me.
