Not much different then the High School sets that were produced in the late 80's to early 1990's.

Some of those kids sign nice autographs, better than the chicken scratches you get from so many major leaguers.

I wish someone made a card of me when I was 14. What an honor.

That would be pretty awesome to see yourself in a major set when you're that age.

Those kids should be enormously proud, and I bet their parents are over the moon; it takes a ton of talent and hard work to wind up on that team.

Maybe someone should produce a set of Net54 collectors.

If they do, I'd like to be a short print card...

Never heard of a set but I know a fellow member with a card that has his Net54 stats on the back.

I wonder if something like this could affect college eligibility for any of these kids?

One of those kids looked like he's around 27; another one appears civilized, but only has one name; one has a great smile full of braces; and two won't be shaving for at least three more years...sans peds of course.

Twelve bucks is way too steep for these spoiled brats.

I'll bet more than one of the kids' parents will try to corner the market on their boy's card...as a serious investment...

I am sure others would agree with that sentiment.
Seriously, maybe I missed it, but it seems like years since you have posted, Frank?

Yes Sir, Peter... it has been a while. I took a renewed interest in W514's, dug mine out, and decided to visit this site. Good to see your name.

+1 This.

Whatever ends up happening, most of these folks won't make it in the Bigs, if they even play professional baseball. Cool idea, let them enjoy their moment in the spotlight.

Agreed. Although, I would but normally high school baseball talent never attend college. Yes, there are players who play college baseball (Bonds, McGwire etc.) but most get drafted straight out of high school.
