Greg. I couldn't agree more. But bringing up Coach's Corner here just seems to make everyone frustrated and upset about the fakes they peddle.

I understand CC stuff is garbage. I'm sorry I'm not familiar enough with this card. Are you saying it fake in a PRO holder or just drastically over graded. With your reactions I'm assuming it fake. I know PRO is famous for over graded and trimmed cards but they don't know a fake when they see one either? Thank goodness I found this forum 7 years ago when I began my quest for T206 portraits. The first card I ever bought was a PRO T206. . Low grade and cheap but it was the last I ever looked at thanks to you guys. Still have it though.

Hard to tell from the scan but we can assume ANY higher grade card, and/or valuable card, in a PRO holder is either fake, trimmed or altered. That card won't sell for more than a couple dollars in a PRO holder....but the description of other auctioned ones is probably accurate. If you have a legitimate card it won't be in a PRO holder, 999 times out of a 1000. Kind of like buying a T206 Wagner on Craigs list.

The problems with this auction is they dont show the card in the PRO slab. Id like to see my first fake in the holder...
Ive seen a few dozen fakes in PSA slabs (many blue tint Fro-Joys, M101-5 Ruth etc.), but never one in a PRO slab

I actually bought a nice Tango Jennings is a PRO slab before and crossed it.

here is my only PRO card I have now... my "cutting board slabbed" 1948 Ruth

holder is a cross between a SGC and PSA slab and very thick and high quality (but way too heavy and large)

Frank, I'm guessing that's an old picture, because I believe I am currently the proud owner of that E95 Cobb in your picture! Or at least yours has an identical crease across the face as mine....

I always worry about the newbies who aren't familiar with Coach's Corner.

So, for any who aren't...

Coach's Corner Sports Auctions LLC BANNED on EBAY

Best coaches corner auction ever!!! [Net54 Baseball]

Or, if you simply want to apply the "common sense" test, look at the realized prices of recent items...You'll see a "Henri Matisse custom painted/signed $120,000 artwork" sold for $1323, a "Edgar Degas hand painted/original "1/2 Million" artwork" for $767, a "Babe Ruth Yankees single-signed Baseball" for $440, etc.

Putting aside their endless supply of fakes, who buys this junk?

Unfortunately I believe Coaches Corner becomes a wholesale supplier to crooked dealers everywhere.

James, as an auctioneer yourself, does this bother you that they are polluting the supply and distorting the market?

I wonder why people haven't bought stuff from them for the sole purpose of filing lawsuits against them for facilitating fraud. Perhaps a Net54 lawyer can chime in.
