This constitutes one of the more comical situations I've seen of recent. I would recommend to PSA the same as most of us would recommend to a newbie: "Go to Amazon or your local book store and buy a copy of the Beckett or SCD big books."

Even my dad-- who never collected anything much less basaeball cards, but who's listened over the years to my yapping-- chuckled at this one, as he knew all color Fro Joys are reprints. Upon seeing the card, and unfamiliar with all the grader acronyms, he asked me if PSA was legitimate grader.

At least I emailed the high bidder, whom I recognize a little, and let them know.....as far as collecting these Julie....some are real and they are decent cards so I must have at least one, which I have , for my type collection.....otherwise, there are many other sets I would collect if I collected sets....regards all

The Fro Joys are easy to authenticate offline. But I agree with Julie that the casual collector will find it best to start with one many other Ruth cards.

I told him that PSA has been known to buy back some of its worst goofs. Hopefully, he will do the right thing and pull the listing.

Here is the response to my email to the seller:

"Thanks for the warning! I have just got off the phone with PSA and they agree with you that it is a fake. I am stopping the auction immediately and will deal with PSA later. Again, I want to thank you for bringing this to my attention."
