I like this one, but the price is optimistic:

Good point. If the card sells for $250,000 then that's an extra $625 the buyer is paying.

Yeah, lots of room to trim to take it to an even higher grade...

Anyone willing to trim an 8.5 to try to get a 9 or 10 is a lot more brave than I am.

Am I the only one that would rather have the Texas Tommy over the T206 regardless of the price?

My daughter is doing a dual major science degree at SMU and is in her junior year. Her majors are Statistics and Economics with Financial Applications. I hope you aren't correct. I am investing heavily.

It has to be a better investment than a cool half million into a Tom Brady card...

I am sorry but if you cant tell the top and right boarders are trimmed then we are in serious trouble. Those are way to clean of cuts to have been done by period cutters. There is no rolling or paper pull on either of those boarders. You can also tell the top right corner squares up in the soft corner. Those fiber should have been gone a long time ago. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but that is what I see.

And, for $75K, you don't even get to see a pic of the back of this card.

Hey Brian, I have this Texas Tommy - WaJo that looks to be in similar condition to the Texas Tommy - Matty. If you are interested, you can have it for the bargain price of $50K plus your W504 of Sam Rice that I covet.

I can't leave this hanging curve out there, Val. $50,000 plus the Texas Tommy Johnson and the W504 Rice is yours.. Yes, I am sober. No, I am not on drugs. Just optimistic in the Probstein vein.

Not in the correct PSA holder for this theory to be plausible.

That is a gorgeous card...too bad it costs about what my four years of grad school cost (before interest...which I'm still paying for). I doubt my wife would let me take about another loan of that size.

No way it’s the same card. There hasn’t been enough time for a crossover submission at PSA! Haha.

According to VCP, this card sold in February 2017 at a Heritage Auction. This is not a recent crossover.

I wonder if this was once in David Hall's collection. I've been trying to find some images but can't turn anything up. It's my understanding that many cards that had the Hall collection pedigree on the label have been reholdered to remove the pedigree.

To take this thread on a small tangent, today I got an email from Probstein using the PWCC high end designation as a selling point for one of his auctions. How about that.

Too soft of corners on the T206 Marty to justify a 8.5 grade in my opinion. No way I get that grade if I sent that in.

The Matty in a PSA 8.5 is an absolute joke, nice card, but way overgraded... Please, maybe a grade of 7, look at the mark below the letter O at the bottom! These high volume sellers and submitters get every benefit of the doubt IMO. Does it mean exchanging kickbacks? You tell me....

There is also what appears to be an indentation or mark in the middle of the Piedmont back. At the very least, it's clearly overgraded.

I think the price is set by consignment not Rick. Here was a 1939 playball Ted Williams PSA 7.5 that was reasonably priced given where the 7’s and 8’s are going.
