Default Giuliani celebrates with Red Sox in Topps spoof

Topps did a similar thing last year on the Jeter card. Pres. Bush was in the stands and Mantle was in the dug out. That card got some major hype (one of  the New York Papers ran a story on it).  After the story ran, this card was selling at some silly prices.  I saw a bronze or gold parallel (can't remember which) sell for $10k.  honest..

I can't imagine brand new cards selling at that price, but it did..   A fool and his money.. I guess.

You have to agree that anyone who claims to be a Yankees fan and then actually roots for the Red Sox in any situation lacks the character necessary to get the keys to the toilet on Airforce One, let alone the whole plane. The fact that Rudy could even say "Red Sox" in public without adding "suck" right afterwards and spitting on the ground proves that he is the leading a-hole in the nation.

Oh,

Is this now what Topps has become?
Trying to add spoof cards to their sets for the added hype?
To have a legitimate error card is one thing but
to plant Bush on last years Jeter card or Rudy on
this years BoSox card is kinda a reach. IMO

Exactly what I was thinking about Topps. They tried to claim last year that it was a "mistake". Yeah right. They haven't had that much exposure, free advertising, and hysteria about a card set forever.

Now doing it 2 years in a row is overkill.

I like that Topps has done stuff like this. After a while it gets boring to just have cards with players on the front. At least with these spoof cards you get a good laugh and its different from the standard player and player name cards.
