Default John White center fielder NY giants?

I came across this photo in a book about the history of the local fire dept.
among the players listed on the "spalding bat co. ball team" is John white
center fielder NY giants. I couldn't find anything on him ever playing for them.

can anyone verify that he ever played for them? Thanks for any help.

Patrick

Default White-Out?

Pat-

I did a search on BaseballResearch.com for any player with the last name of White playing for the New York Giants during the years mentioned, 1891-1921 and found none. That isn't absolute however, since there are several players whose names are followed with question marks indicating that information may be 'iffy'. Also, it was very common, in those years, for players to use aliases - Jim Thorpe, for one, even though that is clearly not him in the photo.

Could be Jack or John White. Might of had a tryout with the Giants but didn't make the team.
