Default Tubby Spencer???

I was jut looking at the PWCC T206 hammer prices for tonight's auctions. Can anybody tell me why an SGC 40 Piedmont 150 (Oops! It WAS a 350!) F25 Tubby Spencer went for such a price?

Scarcity ranking is 81 but I don't have a clue.

It was a Piedmont 350 back, so a tougher combo. But, that's still a big number for that card

Spencer is one of the so-called Elite 11 and the P350 version is pretty much a ghost — almost ever seen. There are fewer than a half-dozen known copies, maybe only 2 or 3. Not shocked by the price.

Winning bid for the same card was $2,839 last summer on PWCC.

Sweet card!

I would go with Scot R's explanation above.
