Who is the guy in the middle??

Photo below is advertised as Jackson, but I think it is Lajoie. In the pictures above, Joe Jackson is on the left and Nap Lajoie on the right. Who's in the middle photo (and below)? Jackson rarely played 1st Base, only a couple dozen times in his career, Lajoie played 1st Base more than 2nd Base in 1911.

fkw;

That "first baseman" isn't JJ. Incidentally, the seller of that PC has a shill bidder in his roster and has for sometime - bug44458 (his bid will likely end in a $_9.00 on this item)

Both ID's shouldn't linger for much longer.

Keep your $$

The postcard is old, but Im not sure photo is of a Major Leaguer. The stamp box is an "Artura" from 1906-1912. Its interesting. I dont like postcards where the player is not identified.

The guy's playing first base with a firstbaseman's glove if that's any help.

I saw that auction...it went much higher than I would have guessed for an unknown player that is most likely an amateur or minor leaguer.

btw: Where was it advertised as Jackson?

George Stovall, if it is a Cleveland MLBer. Stovall played a ton of 1st base for the Naps:

(BTW, this photo is of him later on in the Federal League)

Frank, where are you seeing this being advertised as Joe Jackson....The photo is a minor leaguer or town team player from the Jackson, Michigan area.

bug44458 is actually up thanks to the $9 s&h.

*The winner of Auction 1 (legitimate) was "bug44458", he then relisted it Auction 2, under his other ID "monahan100" changing the description from a minor league game in "Jackson" to a MLB game featuring Shoeless Joe "Jackson" THEN stupidly bid on it AGAIN "bug44458".

This Shiller was reported several days ago for other shills on his auctions, but slipped through the ebaY net, for now.

In an email reply he stated "I have no idea who this bug44458 is (although bugg44458 has bid on and inadvertantly won many of his auctions). He needs to look in the mirror.

ya, the winner of the first auction relisted it in the Pre1930 category (under a different ebay ID) with a catchy "1911 Joe Jackson Postcard" title, then went and shill bid on it. It still sold for $1 less. I screwed up and put a snipe bid on it last night and forgot to cancel it, otherwise it would have sold for even less. I guess everyone figured it out before I did. I never saw the first auction.

Frank

PS I emailed the winner, and he just replied that the seller let him cancel his winning bid. So we may see it again.

Frank, I had no clue that the postcard was back on ebay...I had to go back into "my ebay" because I was watching it the first go round...When you posted the pic, I knew I had seen it before, and no mention of Joe Jackson was made in the first auction so I was completely confused. I wonder what this guy will list the postcard as next??? If anything hopefully someone at ebay will take notice and kick this guy off, but I doubt that will happen.
