Default Weird-looking SGC card scans

Posted By: runscott

This guy's t205 SGC-graded card scans look really weird - most of the scans are fuzzy, cards at a weird angle, look trimmed. Very, very odd.

Default Weird-looking SGC card scans

Posted By: Scott

I just recently purchased my first graded card and I noticed that when I tried to scan both front and back, I was able to get a pretty clear front scan but I could not get my "cheapo" flatbed scanner to get a crisp scan of the back.

In my case, it would seem that its because of the way the holder (GAI in this case) is designed. The edges of the backside of the holder are raised so you cant get the back of the card in a holder like that flat against the scanner glass.

I would say that the scans for this particular seller seem to exhibit the same problem my scanner has with slabbed cards.

Again, not saying that this proves or disproves anything, just wanted to share my experience.

If anyone has some tricks (short of breaking the card out of the slab which I'm planning on doing anyways) to improve the scan quality on a slabbed card, I'm all ears...
