Default Chronicling America -- vintage newspaper access

Still in the beta stage, but of great promise

http://www.loc.gov/chroniclingamerica/

Apparently there will be much greater coverage, but "baseball" retrieves 4448 pages for the period 1900 to 1910

Awesome! this is something that i had been wishing for. Finally i can trace back to early days of the california and pcl leagues.

Best of all i can now chronicle the start of the career of Frank Arellanes
( Boston Americans 1908-1910 )who i found out had been involved with organized baseball in california since 1900 !

thank you , thank you , thank you! makes for awesome reading and historical baseball facts. best of all you can save and print the articles.
